About the role

What will you do at Amazon?

AWS Global Sales drives adoption of the AWS cloud worldwide, enabling customers

of all sizes to innovate and expand in the cloud. Our team empowers every

customer to grow by providing tailored service, compelling technology, and

support. We dive deep to understand each customer's unique challenges, from

peak-season scalability to cloud transformation, then craft innovative solutions

that accelerate their success. This customer-first approach is how we built the

world's most adopted cloud. Join us and help us grow.

As a trusted customer advocate, the Solutions Architect will help retail

organizations within the Retail, Restaurants & Consumer Goods (RRCG) vertical

understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions, and how to

migrate and modernize existing workloads to the cloud. You will have the

opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build mindshare and broad

adoption of AWS.

The ability to connect technology with measurable business value to drive

increased usage of AWS is critical to a Solutions Architect.

Here are some other qualities we are looking for

- At AWS, we have a credo of "Work hard. Have fun. Make history."

In this role,

you will love what you do and instinctively know how to make work fun. You will

be dynamic and creative, and willing to take on any challenge and make a big

impact.

- Enjoy working with large, global retail customers. You will have a passion for

educating, training, designing, and building cloud solutions for some of the

most innovative and demanding retail companies in the world.

- You will enjoy keeping your existing technical skills honed and developing new

ones, from high-availability online and store systems to real-time inventory and

AI-driven personalization, so you can make contributions to deep architecture

discussions.

Key job responsibilities

- Ensure success in building and migrating ecommerce applications, platforms,

and services onto AWS — including commerce engines, digital experience layers,

fulfillment systems, and data pipelines.

- As part of the RRCG account management team, formulate and execute a technical

strategy aligned to the unique growth and transformation goals of East Coast

ecommerce customers.

- Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS for retail and ecommerce

workloads, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions

are designed for peak-traffic resilience, cost efficiency, and rapid innovation.

- Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many enablement sessions to transfer knowledge

to ecommerce customers considering or already using AWS — covering topics such

as GenAI-powered personalization, real-time analytics, and cloud-native commerce

architectures.

- Capture and share best-practice knowledge across the AWS Solutions Architect

community, with a focus on ecommerce and retail patterns.

- Author or contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers,

blogs, workshops, and reference architectures tailored to the RRCG vertical.

- Build deep relationships with senior technical stakeholders at East Coast

ecommerce companies to enable them to become cloud advocates and accelerate

their digital transformation.

- Act as a technical liaison between customers, AWS service engineering teams,

and support — advocating for ecommerce-specific product needs and roadmap

priorities.

A day in the life

The Retail, Restaurants & Consumer Goods (RRCG) Solutions Architecture team

partners with some of the most innovative ecommerce and retail companies on the

East Coast. We are builders and trusted advisors with deep expertise across

commerce platforms, supply chain modernization, real-time analytics, and

AI-driven personalization. We celebrate curiosity, share knowledge freely, and

take pride in the impact we deliver for customers and the broader AWS community.

If you're energized by the intersection of technology and commerce, this is the

team for you.

No two days look the same as an RRCG Solutions Architect on the East Coast. Your

morning might start with a customer architecture review, helping a major

retailer design a peak-season scaling strategy on AWS. By midday, you're

collaborating with your account team on a proposal for a D2C brand exploring

AI-driven personalization. Afternoons bring deep-dive whiteboarding sessions,

internal knowledge sharing, or contributing to a retail reference architecture.

You close the day connecting with a senior engineering leader, building the

trust that turns customers into cloud advocates. It's fast, meaningful, and

never boring.
