As a project manager, I think it's essential to maintain a careful balance between enhancing current experiences through performance improvements and adding new features. The prioritization usually relies on several factors. If the product's performance falls short of industry standards or significantly impacts user experience, then enhancing performance takes precedence. Conversely, if the product is performing well and competitors are rolling out innovative features that are vital for the business to remain competitive, then the focus will shift to developing new features. In any situation, the decision-making process will be guided by qualitative and quantitative data, business goals and strategy, and the availability of resources. For example, using the MoSCoW prioritization method (Must, Should, Could, and Would) can help identify which features or performance improvements should be addressed immediately, which ones can follow, and which can be deferred.
