During my previous work experiences, I've identified several best practices among the most effective project managers (PMs). A key practice that stood out is their excellent communication skills. For example, PMs who effectively communicated project objectives, timelines, roles, performance metrics, risks, and other pertinent information tended to be very successful. They consistently provided updates and reminders, ensuring that everyone stayed informed and aligned. This level of transparency was crucial for driving the project forward and swiftly addressing any issues. Additionally, they were exceptionally organized, maintaining detailed project plans and utilizing appropriate project management tools to monitor deadlines, resources, dependencies, and risks. Their ability to foresee potential obstacles and adapt accordingly was impressive, as it helped reduce delays and keep projects on schedule.
