Job Description

NOTE: This position is offered as a hybrid role in the Seattle, WA area. You must be willing to work onsite at the Nordstrom Seattle office a minimum of 4 days/week in order to be considered for this position.

Nordstrom is looking for a Senior Engineer 2 to join our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team — and we think that person could be you.

You'll help build the scalable, reliable, and resilient systems that keep Nordstrom running for millions of customers. You'll set and maintain high operational standards, lead key projects from concept to execution, and bring fresh thinking to how our team solves problems. Your work will directly shape how seamlessly our systems perform.

A day in the life…

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure their systems meet Nordstrom’s standards for operational excellence.

Mentor team members and other engineers on best practices in SRE.

Lead the design and implementation of projects aimed at improving operational excellence across the Technology Team.

Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure reliability and scalability.

Develop and refine tools and automation to enhance system performance and operational efficiency.

Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for critical issues and incidents.

Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and reduce manual efforts through automation.

Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation for systems and procedures.

You own this if you have…

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent experience

10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on site reliability or infrastructure

Proficiency with Kubernetes and containerization technologies

Experience with languages such as Java, Go, Python

Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, and Azure

Strong networking experience and understanding of network protocols

Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues

Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations.

Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

$166,000.00 - $258,000.00 Annual
