Android Platform Developer Relations Engineer

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or

equivalent practical experience.

* 3 years of work experience in a technical role (e.g., software engineering,

solutions consultant, etc.) or equivalent technical experience.

* Experience building for Android using Kotlin.

* Experience with UI development.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* 5 years of experience in Android software development.

* 3 years of experience as a technical practitioner in a developer community.

* Experience working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders.

* Experience presenting technical content to large audiences.

* Experience using AI agents.

excited to collaborate and connect with the communities that love technology as

much as we do. Part community manager and part developer advocate, Developer

Relations Engineers collaborate with developers at conferences and online, and

advocate for developers interests internally at Google. Not afraid to be

hands-on, you write sample code and client libraries as well as participate in

developer forums and support queues to troubleshoot and debug coding problems

developers encounter. Internally, you work with product engineering teams to

improve our products by conveying feedback from developers, reviewing API

designs and testing new features.

With your technical expertise, you drive strategy around fostering a community

of developers who work with Google technologies. An ardent advocate for these

developers, you represent their voice internally to our Product Managers and

serve as their Google support in application development and technology

implementation.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills,

experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $138000 - $197000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Present technical sessions and workshops at conferences, meetups, and

developer events.

* Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to deliver the most relevant

developer narrative to Android Developers.

* Understand how Android development works in an agentic coding era and drive

high quality input to ensure models can effectively write idiomatic and

performant Android code

* Become an expert in one or more foundational Android areas, and identify

opportunities for Google and developers to create better products for users.

* Work with external developers, generate developer insights, create guidance,

write example code, author blog posts, design APIs, propose product changes,

influence engineering plans, discover developer stories, and inspire

developers.
