Senior Software Developer

Overview

DecisionPoint is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer join our team! The successful candidate will work closely with federal staff, providing management, engineering, and technical services to support a comprehensive transition of client networks and applications from IPv4 to IPv6.

This position is fully remote.

Duties & Responsibilities

Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; and following the software development lifecycle.

Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.

Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.

Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.

Improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.

Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, computing equipment, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and by participating in educational opportunities.

Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.

Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments. Plans and leads major technology assignments. Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.

Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. May supervise others.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust and EOD.
• Comfortable in the role as a technical consultant with the ability to lead technical discussions and work plans.
• Experience working on complex networking projects.
• Ability to participate and make IPv6 software recommendations related to cloud technology.
• Ability to analyze and implement software modifications to support IPv6.
• Experience designing, developing, and executing automated workflows for networking deployments.
• Certifications Highly Desirable:
• CCNA Automation
• Red Hat Certified Engineer in Ansible
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
