About the role
What will you do at Apple?
Apple is where people do the best work of their careers. Work that has an impact
on individuals and the world. Work that is challenging and fulfilling. Work that
doesn’t always feel like work. We are building the next generation of cloud
infrastructure, software development and AI platforms that power some of the
world's most beloved services ranging from Music, TV+, Sports, and App Store to
emerging AI and GenAI-driven experiences. At the center of this effort, the
Internal Tools HI design team is reimagining how Apple engineers build, ship,
and scale the infrastructure behind them. We're looking for a Senior Product
Designer to help shape that future: tackling complex interaction challenges at
scale, setting design direction, and creating experiences that make thousands of
engineers meaningfully more capable every day. We're looking for someone who's
energized by hard problems, high craft, and work that ships to a technically
sophisticated audience.
DESCRIPTION
As a Senior Product Designer on the Internal Tools HI design team, you'll work
closely with cross-functional partners to research, ideate, design, and
prototype intuitive, user-centric solutions for Apple engineers. This role
requires a sharp eye for precision and design system fidelity, along with a
strong blend of information architecture, interaction, and visual design skills.
You'll work under tight deadlines while incorporating input from design
leadership and a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders. Strong
collaboration skills, composure under pressure, and adaptability to rapid change
are essential. You'll help set the design direction for the team while
contributing to process improvements and team growth. You're expected to
leverage AI-powered tools throughout your process to accelerate research
synthesis, generate and evaluate design directions, build prototypes, and reduce
friction between design intent and shipped product.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
7+ years of design experience with a focus on web. Expertise designing
large-scale enterprise, B2B, or data-rich internal tools. Proven track record of
solving complex interaction problems across multiple platforms. Portfolio
showcasing excellence in interaction design, visual design, and problem-solving.
Outstanding ability to communicate design thinking to engineers, product
managers, and leadership through storytelling, visuals, and presentations.
Demonstrated success translating technical data constructs into clear,
user-centered experiences. Proficiency in industry-standard design tools
(Sketch, Figma, Keynote) and comfort adopting new tools as the landscape
evolves. Expertise documenting interaction details, visual design
specifications, and quality-checking implementation against design intent.
Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously. Thrives in
collaborative critique environments and actively incorporates feedback to
strengthen design outcomes. Comfort with ambiguity and a track record of
adapting to rapid change.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience designing developer-facing portals or tools for professionals working
with big data, complex infrastructure, or similarly technical domains. Ability
to use AI-assisted prototyping or development tools to produce functional,
testable design artifacts, going beyond static mocks to accelerate validation.
Confidence leading and presenting a design-first vision that bridges highly
technical data constructs with demanding user requirements. Experience planning
and conducting research studies, including study design, participant recruiting,
and synthesis.
