As a Product Manager at Meta, I envision my users as predominantly active social media participants, spanning from millennials to middle-aged individuals who enjoy dining out, whether occasionally or frequently. I see three primary challenges: the struggle to find an appropriate restaurant based on various criteria (such as location, cuisine, and price), complications when making reservations, and uncertainty regarding the quality of food or overall experience at a new venue. To address these issues, I suggest developing an integrated restaurant reservation feature within the existing Meta platform. Key functionalities would include: Enhanced Search and Filtering: Users would have the ability to search for restaurants based on various criteria including cuisine, location, budget, ratings, and available promotions. Streamlined Reservation Process: Facilitate real-time table bookings with immediate confirmation directly within the social media platform. User Reviews and Ratings: Access to reviews and ratings from friends and family within the app, along with personalized restaurant suggestions based on friends' preferences. In-app Navigation: Effortless navigation to the selected restaurant using integrated map directions. I would prioritize these features according to user needs and their influence on the overall experience. For revenue generation, Meta could charge restaurants for listings, premium placements, or for each successful reservation processed through the platform. The product should be developed iteratively, incorporating ongoing feedback to facilitate enhancements and adjustments over time.
