Currently, Facebook's timeline functions as a continuous list of user activities and shared content. It effectively acts as a journal, helping users keep track of posts and ensuring they don’t miss anything. Nevertheless, there is room for improvement in terms of customization and user control, as users currently have limited influence over what appears on their timeline. To begin with, we can improve customization by enabling users to organize posts into categories or tabs such as 'Personal', 'Work', 'Hobby', and so on. This would provide a more organized perspective, assisting users in distinguishing and prioritizing information more effectively. Additionally, although the existing algorithm tries to display 'relevant' content, allowing users to influence what constitutes 'relevance' could be advantageous. For example, users could prioritize categories like 'family', 'close friends', and 'followed pages' to tailor the type of content visible on their timeline. Finally, adding a more sophisticated search function within the timeline could facilitate easier access to specific posts.
