During my time as a Project Manager at XYZ Corp., we faced a situation where three out of five projects were considerably over budget and behind schedule. Acknowledging the seriousness of the issue, I took the initiative to identify the root cause. By reviewing project budget reports and speaking with team leaders, I found that the primary problem was the inefficient use of resources. There was a noticeable lack of clarity among team members regarding project objectives and timelines, leading to considerable time lost on rework. I recommended and put into action a new protocol that included weekly team meetings for better communication, documented project plans with clear milestones, and ongoing training programs to enhance skills. These adjustments helped eliminate confusion and increased team efficiency. Within six months, all three projects were back on schedule, resulting in substantial cost savings for the company and a boost in the client's confidence in our delivery capabilities.
