In this role, you will

• design and build highly scalable backend services, distributed systems, and API infrastructure that power Workato's automation platform.
• You will collaborate closely with product, UI, connectivity, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to deliver elegant, reliable, and high-performance solutions to complex engineering challenges.</p><h2><strong><br>Responsibilities</strong></h2><ul><li>Design, develop, and maintain high-performance connectors using Golang.</li><li>Provide technical leadership in microservices architecture, establishing best practices for RESTful and gRPC API design.</li><li>Contribute throughout the entire software development lifecycle, from design through deployment and maintenance.</li><li>Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-tested code.</li><li>Conduct deep performance tuning and optimization to eliminate bottlenecks in high-scale production environments.</li><li>Participate in architecture discussions and propose improvements to existing systems.</li><li>Troubleshoot production issues and improve system stability.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features.</li><li>Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to engineering practices.</li></ul><h2><strong>Requirements</strong></h2><ul><li>BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.</li><li>5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on backend systems.</li><li>3+ years of hands-on experience developing production applications with Golang.</li><li>Strong experience building and scaling distributed, highly available systems.</li><li>Strong understanding of Go concurrency patterns — goroutines, channels, context management</li><li>Solid knowledge of object-oriented and idiomatic Go design principles</li><li>Experience designing and building REST APIs and microservices.</li><li>Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, HTTP, gRPC, and messaging systems.</li><li>Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and caching technologies including Redis or Memcached.</li><li>Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes.</li><li>Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.</li><li>Excellent debugging, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to a broad audience and work effectively with cross-functional teams.</li><li>Strong understanding of software design principles, data structures, algorithms, and system design.</li><li>Experience writing unit, integration, and performance tests.</li><li>Contributions to Open Source projects are a plus.<br><br></li></ul><p><strong>Job Req ID: 2399</strong></p>
