About the role
What will you do at Wego.com?
Company Overview
Wego is an online travel metasearch platform used by millions to find the best flights and hotel deals. We are seeking a talented, agile Marketing Automation & AI Engineer with a strong focus on Agentic AI to join our MarTech team.
Role Description
As part of the Marketing Technology (MarTech) team, you will build the next generation of marketing automation — designing and deploying autonomous AI agents that drive insights from digital campaigns and independently optimize marketing operations.
You will work daily alongside the Performance Marketing team, deeply understanding their KPIs (ROAS, CPA, CTR, conversion rates) and how media platforms work, their campaign structures, auction mechanics, and APIs (Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, Apple Search Ads) to ensure every system you build directly serves campaign performance goals.
Unlike traditional, rigid backend data roles focused solely on static data lakes, this position requires building highly adaptable, configuration-driven automation systems. You will design architectures that allow the Performance Marketing team to quickly pivot campaign strategies, creative assets, and budget pacing without needing structural core code deployments for every minor requirement change.
Key Responsibilities
- Campaign Creation & Optimization Automation: Architect end-to-end automated workflows for campaign creation, audience segmentation, creative assembly, launch, and continuous optimization using AI/ML signals to drive dynamic bidding, budget pacing, and A/B testing across channels.
- AI-Driven Content Orchestration: Engineer multi-agent systems to generate and iterate on personalized ad content (ad copy, images, videos) at scale.
- Agile Data Activation & Automation Infrastructure: Build and maintain flexible data flows optimized for real-time marketing activation. Ensure data structures are explicitly designed for dynamic content generation and automated campaign adjustment rather than just static reporting or legacy ETL pipelines.
- Performance Marketing Collaboration: Partner daily with the Performance Marketing team to translate KPIs and rapidly changing campaign objectives into technical configurations; ensure data integrity, API reliability, and consistent AI agent deployments across all paid channels.
- Agentic Workflow Development: Design, build, and deploy autonomous AI agents using LLMs (Claude, Gemini, OpenAI) for automated marketing workflows.
Qualifications
- Experience & Domain Expertise
- 3+ years in performance/digital marketing analytics and marketing automation with hands-on experience in AI engineering.
- Deep understanding of paid/performance marketing KPIs, how media platforms work (campaign structure, auction mechanics, targeting, measurement) and their APIs (Meta, Google Ads, TikTok), and MMP tooling (AppsFlyer, Adjust).
- Proven experience building end-to-end campaign automation systems including programmatic campaign creation, ML-driven optimization, and automated actions via ad platform APIs.
- Technical Skills
- Advanced SQL and Python.
- Proven experience building configuration-driven architectures or rules engines (e.g., headless CMS integrations, dynamic creative optimization tools), attribution models, and activation workflows.
- Proficiency building and orchestrating AI agents using foundational LLMs; integrating LLMs and AI agents with external tools and APIs.
- Soft Skills & Mindset
- Extreme flexibility and comfort with ambiguity: Understands that marketing strategies pivot quickly and intentionally designs technical solutions to accommodate fluid business requirements.
- Strong product mindset: Views the marketing team as your core "users" and builds tools that empower them to self-serve safely.
- Excellent communication skills to seamlessly bridge technical architectures with creative marketing strategies.
