Through technical capstones, hackathons, and hands-on projects, you’ll strengthen your technical expertise while building your ability to collaborate, influence, and lead.

The Technology Leadership Program is a two-year rotational development experience designed for graduating students ready to begin their careers in technology. Participants complete three eight-month rotations across Risk & Security Engineering-focused teams, gaining exposure to areas such as secure software development, DevSecOps, identity and access management, and vulnerability remediation - while increasing ownership, responsibility, and leadership capability over time.

In this program, you will:

Design, build, and enhance secure applications and systems across Vanguard’s technology environment

Contribute to implementing security controls and best practices within software, platforms, and infrastructure

Assist in identifying and addressing vulnerabilities in applications and systems

Build tools, automations, or processes that improve security and operational efficiency

Partner with engineering, security, and platform teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions

Gain exposure to secure software development practices, DevSecOps, and cybersecurity concepts

Apply Agile methodologies to support development and security initiatives

Take ownership of projects and contribute to delivering high-impact outcomes

Collaborate across teams, share insights, and drive solutions in a supportive environment

Build a network with program managers, alumni, senior leaders, and peers

Meet regularly with your department manager and program manager to receive personalized coaching and mentorship

What it takes:

Bachelor's or Master's degree with a concentration in computer science, computer engineering, IST, IT, CIS, Security, Risk, Cybersecurity or related technical/engineering subject matter required

Strong interest in software engineering with a focus on security and system protection

Familiarity with programming concepts and a willingness to learn secure coding practices

Demonstrated leadership potential, initiative, and ability to take ownership of work

Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, team-oriented environment

Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred
