Director, Account Management

We are looking for a Director of Account Management with 5-8+ years of experience to lead and coach a team of Account Managers at a high-growth AI platform transforming industrial R&D. You'll join as a player-coach, managing 3-5 AMs while personally owning strategic enterprise accounts with books of business ranging from $1M to $4M. This role exists to remove our VP of Account Management from day-to-day team management, so we need someone who can operate independently with strong judgment from day one.

The ideal candidate has managed enterprise accounts selling complex, technical products to technical buyers — ideally in an industrial or scientific context — and can hit the ground running without hand-holding. What will you be doing?

Coach and develop a team of 3-5 Account Managers through onboarding, renewals, stakeholder management, and commercial escalations Own strategic enterprise accounts as executive sponsor, driving retention and expansion outcomes across complex, multi-divisional customers Set the standards for how AMs handle customer communications, reporting, and value creation — ensuring urgency and quality across the book Navigate technical implementation challenges alongside scientific buyers, balancing product depth with commercial strategy Drive GRR/NRR targets and hold the team accountable to quota while personally unblocking the most critical account issues
