Job Description
The Marketing Cloud Engineer is responsible for oversight, creation and
execution of content for the University of Florida Advancement’s (UFA) Web
communications, email marketing and digital assets. Reporting to the Director of
E-Commerce & Marketing Cloud Architect, this position will collaborate with
other members of UFA’s communications, development and alumni departments to
ensure seamless, creative and impactful messaging across platforms. The
Assistant Director will guide e-communications developed by decentralized units
to ensure they are in compliance with UFA’s editorial guidelines, messaging and
visual identity standards. In addition, the incumbent will play a key role in
executing UFA’s digital strategy, which will require an understanding of best
practices in content development, information technology and architecture, site
design, search-engine optimization and web analytics, along with strong
consensus-building skills.
Marketing Cloud Administration
* Assist in the administration of UF Advancement’s Marketing Cloud instance,
including setup, maintenance, and account/access management.
* Serve as a resource for Marketing Cloud expertise, collaborating with
Communications and other UFA units on platform initiatives.
* Develop, test, and implement Marketing Cloud solutions based on project
requirements, ensuring quality and consistency.
* Oversee the integrity of the Marketing Cloud data structure and manage data
extensions to support marketing and communication needs.
* Monitor email deliverability and ensure compliance with CAN-SPAM and other
legal requirements.
* Develop and maintain automations, journeys, and personalization strategies
using AMPscript and other tools to optimize email campaigns.
* Assist in the management of any current or future Marketing Cloud subsystems,
including Marketing Cloud Intelligence, Distributed Marketing, and
Interaction Studio.
* Ensure alignment of Marketing Cloud operations with UFA and UF requirements
and industry best practices.
E-Commerce
* Assist with managing e-commerce platforms, including the online giving
system, digital event marketing tools, and auction solutions.
* Provide technical support and troubleshooting for e-commerce systems,
including the UF Foundation’s credit card gateway (currently CyberSource).
* Collaborate with stakeholders to refine e-commerce strategies, focusing on
donor experience, conversion rates, and reducing cart abandonment.
* Partner with the Director of E-Commerce to evaluate new or enhanced
e-commerce solutions to meet the organization’s goals.
Digital Automation & Analytics
* Build and maintain automated data integrations between Marketing Cloud and
other platforms, including CRM, online giving, and web applications.
* Design and optimize Marketing Cloud journeys to deliver strategic donor
touchpoints and ensure consistent engagement.
* Analyze and report on campaign performance using Marketing Cloud Intelligence
and Google Analytics.
* Create custom coding solutions to enhance automation and personalization in
email marketing.
* Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to improve digital
engagement strategies.
Digital Application Administration
* Support the administration of UF Advancement’s web presences, including CMS
management, backend configuration, and troubleshooting.
* Assist in the maintenance of on-premises web environments, ensuring security
and stability.
* Partner with teams to enhance digital content delivery and overall website
performance.
* Collaborate with the Senior Director of Development Information Systems to
ensure digital platforms meet organizational needs.
Web Security
* Support web security initiatives across UFF/UFAA properties, including
auditing and compliance monitoring.
* Liaise with UFIT and other teams to manage SSL certificates and implement
secure practices.
* Ensure compliance with PCI DSS standards and organizational policies related
to web and email security.
Expected Salary:
$75,000 – 85,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience. The

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience;
- or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A valid Florida driver's license is required.
- Preferred:
- The ideal candidate will possess:
- * Degree in communications, public relations, marketing or related field with
- writing abilities.
- * Five years of experience producing and directing digital communications;
- supervisory experience.
- * Knowledge of content development, information technology and architecture,
- site design, search-engine optimization and Web analytics.
- * Prior experience in communications in development, fundraising, higher
- education or related areas, and knowledge of advancement philosophy and
- practices.
- * Effective time management and organizational skills.
- * Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal
- abilities, and the capacity to engage effectively and collaboratively with a
- wide range of individuals are essential.

- * Excellent planning and digital project management skills.
- * The ability to solve problems, using investigative research and analytical

- * Strong knowledge of various digital communications and social media software
- and platforms, including content management systems and digital publishing

- practice tools and techniques for digital communications.
- * The ability and willingness to travel. A valid driver license and good
- driving record are essential.
- *Business expenses are reimbursed through a standard accounting system. The

- them reimbursed is essential.
