Job Description
UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking a professional level
Advanced Linux Infrastructure Platform Engineer to join the Infrastructure &
Communication Technology team within UFIT.
Competitive candidates will be self-motivated, organized, and eager to learn
with outstanding communication skills. You will lead medium to large projects
and coordinate teams responsible for maintenance, installation, configuration,
and deployment of enterprise-wide infrastructure and software systems.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:
* Linux Administration of Enterprise Applications
* PeopleSoft maintenance and administration
* Scripting and automation using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, GitLab, etc.
* Large scale Linux administration
* Assist Linux Platform Team in architecture and implementation
* Provide leadership, advice, and recommendations on enterprise systems
administration and management technologies
* Mentor and cultivate fellow talented staff members

Expected Salary:
$98,000 - $105,000; commensurate based on education and experience. In

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience;
- or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of relevant experience.
- Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the
- required experience.
- Preferred:
- The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and
- skills:
- * Expertise in Installation, Architecture/Design, and Management of Enterprise
- Application Infrastructure in large-scale environments using on-premises and
- cloud deployments
- * Proficiency with automation, scripting, and configuration management systems
- such as: Puppet, Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, and Python
- * Ability to configure load balancer appliances, policies, and virtual server
- load balancing
- * Experience with large scale Linux System management with the ability to
- perform in-depth troubleshooting
- * Expertise with orchestration tools such as Terraform
- * Proficient with monitoring systems experience such as: Nagios, Zabbix
