Job Description

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking a professional level

Advanced Linux Infrastructure Platform Engineer to join the Infrastructure &

Communication Technology team within UFIT.

Competitive candidates will be self-motivated, organized, and eager to learn

with outstanding communication skills. You will lead medium to large projects

and coordinate teams responsible for maintenance, installation, configuration,

and deployment of enterprise-wide infrastructure and software systems.

Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:

* Linux Administration of Enterprise Applications

* PeopleSoft maintenance and administration

* Scripting and automation using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, GitLab, etc.

* Large scale Linux administration

* Assist Linux Platform Team in architecture and implementation

* Provide leadership, advice, and recommendations on enterprise systems

administration and management technologies

* Mentor and cultivate fellow talented staff members

Expected Salary:

$98,000 - $105,000; commensurate based on education and experience. In

Qualifications

  • Preferred:
  • The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and
  • skills:
  • * Expertise in Installation, Architecture/Design, and Management of Enterprise
  • Application Infrastructure in large-scale environments using on-premises and
  • cloud deployments
  • * Proficiency with automation, scripting, and configuration management systems
  • such as: Puppet, Ansible, GitLab CI/CD, and Python
  • * Ability to configure load balancer appliances, policies, and virtual server
  • load balancing
  • * Experience with large scale Linux System management with the ability to
  • perform in-depth troubleshooting
  • * Expertise with orchestration tools such as Terraform
  • * Proficient with monitoring systems experience such as: Nagios, Zabbix
