  • Principal Specialist, (P3) to ensure the smooth operation of classified network
  • infrastructure at our Raytheon locations. The installation, maintenance,
  • support, and monitoring of the network infrastructure will be performed.
  • Candidate must have a solid background supporting networks and possess an Active
  • US Secret Clearance. This role will be onsite and based in Pelham, NH, with
  • approximately 60% of the time spent in Pelham and 40% at the Andover, MA site
  • and may require occasional travel to other local and US Domestic locations
  • approximately 5-10% of the time, including occasional evening and weekend work
  • as needed. Relocation support is provided for the applicant if they qualify per
  • company policy..

What You Will Do

  • Maintains smooth operation of voice and data
  • networks. Plans, evaluates, coordinates, and performs installation and/or
  • reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice
  • communication network. Develop technical expertise in all areas of voice and
  • data networks hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as
  • switches, routers, firewalls, authentication servers, encryptors etc. Maintains
  • network management software platforms. Propose solutions to management to ensure
  • all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage,
  • configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings aligning with future
  • requirements factoring in redundancy and required network uptime. Prepares or
  • ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational
  • instructions, technical diagrams, and other documentation. Where no
  • documentation exists, new documentation will be created. Provide regular
  • monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for
  • in-house systems. Assist with coordination of third-party maintenance for
  • network equipment or with vendors for third-party support. Network designs that
  • include selection of hardware and software packages, hierarchical architecture,
  • and geographical limitations. Work with program engineers to resolve networking
  • problems in tactical environments. Assist in the overall performance and
  • capability of technical team through mentoring, training, and knowledge sharing.
  • Willingness and availability to work outside normal business hours (evenings and
  • weekends) as needed. Must be able to work with general supervision and follow
  • established procedures.

Qualifications

  • You Must Have: Typically requires a
  • University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant
  • experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years'
  • experience Experience with configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers,
  • switches, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems, including software
  • upgrades. Experience with current cabling and fiber standards. Active and
  • transferable U.S. government issued US DoD Secret security clearance is required
  • prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are
  • eligible for a security clearance Qualifications we prefer: Willingness and
  • availability to travel domestically as needed. Experience with access control
  • list, security posture, and vendor best practices. Experience with Visio
  • diagramming and design capabilities. Knowledge of configuration and
  • troubleshooting of encryption devices. Effective customer service skills,
  • including oral and written communications. Experience with platforms such as IP
  • telephony, NTP servers, GemOne, and SolarWinds. Certifications in Security+
  • within 6 months and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is highly desired
  • within a year. Ability to work under time constraints. Experience with
