Who we are

CTO Ethan Shea was a Staff Engineer at Vercel, following roles as a Tech Lead at Citadel and engineer at Microsoft. He likes building cool things and playing games. GitHub CEO Natalie Aresta-Katz sold over a million dollars of soap base on Amazon before working at a law firm, where she led a team of researchers to track regulatory changes for the biggest companies in the world.

She enjoys building things in the physical world and doing acrobatic yoga. Regbase tracks new and proposed laws worldwide, down to the local level. We help companies across industries find and comply with guidance that goes beyond what is written into statutes.

Who we’re looking for: This role sits at the intersection of engineering, sales, and product. You’ll get to work directly with Regbase’s customers from the first conversation through implementation, rapidly build solutions to their problems, and bring what you learn back into the core product.

You’ll have a high amount of ownership and variety: one week you might build an MVP for a prospective customer, the next you might improve an AI agent, and the next you might turn something you've built for one customer into a main product feature. What you will do

• Work directly with Regbase's customers from pre-sale through implementation and ongoing use Build MVPs and prototypes to solve customer problems Implement custom software and integrations for customers alongside CTO Ethan Shea Build strong relationships with customers and deeply understand their workflows Identify patterns across customer needs and turn them into product opportunities Contribute data, research, and feedback to Regbase's internal corpus Contribute features and improvements to the core product Analyze, evaluate, and improve AI agent performance About you: 2-5 years of experience Software Engineering Intellectually curious about laws, regulations and public policy Excited about AI development, with hands-on experience building with LLMs Comfortable working directly with customers and communicating technical ideas clearly A collaborative team player who believes strong teams can drive significant change Keen to experiment, challenge norms and deliver secure and reliable systems that delight Regbase’s users Leverage AI in your daily life and work Bonus if you are: Comfortable in Typescript Experienced working in a customer-facing engineering, solutions engineering, or forward-deployed role Have a keen eye for visual design Located in or willing to quickly move to New York What We Provide: A flexible, fast-paced work environment in New York City Work directly with the CTO and CEO The opportunity to shape the product, and work directly with customers Outsized ownership over your work and no limit to personal growth A salary of $150k-225k per year Equity of 0.1-0.25% We love efficiency and hate performative work.
