We currently have a career opportunity for a Full Stack Java Engineering Lead to
join our remote team located in anywhere within North America.
Job Overview:
The Java Engineering Lead provides technology direction, ensures project
implementation compliance, and utilizes technology research to innovate,
integrate, and manage technology solutions. This is a hands-on role requiring
deep technical expertise in Java, AWS cloud technologies, and emerging
AI-enabled solutions. The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader
within an existing delivery team, partnering directly with client stakeholders,
architects, product owners, and engineering teams to define solution strategies
and drive successful outcomes. This role requires a balance of architecture,
hands-on engineering, technical leadership, and client engagement. This role is
considered part of the Business Unit Leadership team and may mentor Junior team
members.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provide architectural solutions/designs to project execution teams for
implementation.
* Provide technology architectural assessments, strategies, and roadmaps for
one or more technology domains.
* Define and enforce engineering standards, architecture principles, and
development best practices across delivery teams.
* Work with application developers, users, operational leadership, and subject
matter experts to understand current and future operational data analysis
goals. Recommend modern technology stacks to meet those goals and help
engineering teams migrate towards their use.
* Provide hands-on technical leadership while contributing directly to
application design, coding, code reviews, and troubleshooting efforts.
* Drive the adoption and integration of AI-enabled solutions, including
Generative AI, LLM-powered applications, intelligent automation, and
conversational experiences.
* Collaborate with the customer's operations and technology leadership on the
future analytic goals of the organization, and design a technical
architecture to meet those goals. Participate in configuring the
architecture, and advise engineering teams on its efficient use.
* Lead a work stream or act as a team lead and manage non-complex components of
the work plan/project.
* Mentor and coach engineers, fostering technical growth and engineering
excellence.
* Support solution estimation, technical proposals, and client presentations as
part of consulting engagements.
QUALIFICATIONS
* 10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on Java
application development.
* 3+ years of experience in an Architecture, Lead Engineer, or Technical Lead
capacity.
* Deep expertise in Java and the broader Java ecosystem, including Spring Boot
and enterprise application frameworks.
* Strong experience designing and implementing microservices and distributed
systems.
* Experience developing cloud-native applications using AWS services such as
Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, and
related services.
* Hands on experience architecting and deploying solutions within AWS.
* Demonstrated experience implementing AI-enabled capabilities, including
Generative AI, LLM integrations, AI-assisted workflows, intelligent search,
or automation solutions
* Strong understanding of software architecture patterns, integration
strategies, scalability, resiliency, and security best practices.
* Experience in defining new architectures and ability to drive an independent
project from an architectural stand point.
* Strong knowledge of API design, RESTful services, and event-driven
architectures.
* Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and modern DevOps
practices.
* Experience in complete project life cycle activities on development and
maintenance projects.
* Knowledge and experience in developing software using agile methodologies.
* Proven track record of technical leadership roles delivering solutions within
defined timeframes.
* Skilled in building relationships with clients and in practice development
activities.
* Demonstrated success in performing work and managing complex and/or large
consulting projects.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills; Ability to communicate
effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
Preferred Skills and Education:
* Experience working with a globally distributed team and managing off-shore
teams.
* Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of
factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience,
applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other
business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the
minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations,
and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is
not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for
their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and
circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current
salary range for this position is $73,008 to $170,640. Please note that the
salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits
