The Infrastructure & Media Technology department is a central technology

organization that sits within the Product & Tech team of Paramount Skydance. We

support multiple lines of business including Enterprise Applications, Ad

Platforms, Linear Broadcasting & Distribution and Media Supply Chain. It is a

The Senior Cloud Architect is in charge of defining architectural standards,

security frameworks and automation goals for all cloud deployments operated by

Infrastructure & Media Technology. It is a high-impact and strategic role with a

large scope that allows the candidate to work with brilliant co-workers to help

solve some of Paramount’s most pressing technical challenges. The Senior Cloud

Architect will have the ability to greatly influence cloud policy as well be a

visionary for how Paramount should adopt the cloud over the next 3 to 5 years.

They will have an opportunity to lead a team and partner with a globally

distributed workforce to define and execute on a strategy to enable applications

to deploy to the cloud in a cost-conscious, repeatable and secure way.

Primary

Responsibilities

  • Hands on engineering capability in support of Paramount Technology’s goal of
  • migrating workloads between public cloud providers
  • Define strategy for migrating applications from various Linux versions (Amazon
  • Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc) to a standard running on Oracle Linux
  • Collaborate and define, document and educate on standards to be followed for the
  • following:
  • * Foundational cloud architecture Automation framework, tools and taxonomy
  • Continuous Integration / Deployment methodology
  • * Security Governance (In collaboration with Information Security)
  • * Partner with and advise Cloud Engineering organization on infrastructure
  • architecture, cloud network design, infrastructure automation and security
  • best practices
  • * Drive infrastructure strategy for security operations Collaborate with
  • Paramount Skydance Information Security organization on Company security
  • standards
  • * Lead team of Infrastructure Security engineers to detect and mitigate
  • vulnerabilities in our environment
  • * Continually evaluate the startup market for innovative solutions in the areas
  • of infrastructure automation, cloud security and observability
  • * Proficiency with Chef Automation Enterprise/OCI
  • * Manage the full lifecycle of the Chef Automation Enterprise platform,
  • including version upgrades, agent updates, and ongoing maintenance Develop
  • and maintain Chef cookbooks to automate configuration management across a
  • managed server ecosystem
  • * Drive the certification process for new operating systems and software,
  • ensuring compatibility and compliance standards are met

Qualifications

  • * The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, and
  • talents:
  • * Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer or Electrical Engineering,
  • Mathematics, or a related field
  • * 6+ years’ experience spanning at least 2 IT disciplines including technical
  • architecture, network design, application development, middleware, database,
  • OS or devops
  • * Deep knowledge of multiple cloud provider offerings Amazon Web
  • Services/GCP/OCI/Azure
  • * Proficiency in Python or JavaScript or Terraform or Golang
  • * Experience with large scale migrations of enterprise systems to public cloud
  • * Experience working with cross functional teams across multiple time zones and
  • varying cultural backgrounds
  • * Experience designing, implementing and managing virtual private networks in
  • public cloud ecosystems and connectivity to the physical layer
  • Additional Qualification
  • * 5+ years’ experience with the following technologies:
  • AWS/Linux/Terraform/Chef
  • * Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tooling and capabilities to enhance and
  • accelerate coding / automation tasks (e.g. Cursor, GitHub CoPilot, Claude
  • Code, etc)
  • * Proven ability to influence peers on advantages of standardization,
  • automation and shift left principles
  • * Demonstrated ability to implement architectural standards in large companies
  • working across diverse teams with varying business and application
  • requirements
  • * Experience drafting statements of work and providing feedback to legal
  • department on business terms for data services contracts
  • * Strong experience in building a highly effective and collaborative team
  • culture that supports learning new technologies and challenges the status
  • quo.

  • ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Hiring Salary Range: $139,200.00 - 208,800.00.
  • The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California,
  • Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the
  • successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but
  • not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and
  • education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental,
  • vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition
  • assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the
  • appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
