Product Data & Components Manager

The Product Data & Components Manager is responsible for the end‑to‑end

ownership of the organization’s Product Data Management (PDM) platform, ensuring

engineering data is secure, accessible, compliant, and optimized for

cross‑functional collaboration. This role manages system configuration,

performance, integrations, workflows, and user adoption across Engineering,

Operations, Quality, and IT. The incumbent will also have responsibility for

creating, maintaining, processing, releasing, and governing a comprehensive

digital parts library within the Product Data Management (PDM) system.

The ideal candidate is a systems thinker with strong governance instincts, deep

PDM expertise, solid knowledge of and hands-on experience with the Parts Library

and processes, and the ability to drive operational excellence across a complex

engineering ecosystem.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* PDM Platform Administration: Manage vaults, metadata schemas, workflows,

lifecycle states, templates, and permissions.

* System Reliability & Performance: Monitor SQL performance, archive server

health, latency, and system uptime; coordinate infrastructure improvements.

* Data Integrity & Governance: Ensure accuracy of CAD metadata, BOM structures,

revision histories, and audit trails. Implement and enforce data governance

policies and parts standardization practices.

* Engineering Change Management: Administer ECO/ECR workflows and ensure

alignment with SDLC and configuration governance.

* Cloud & Infrastructure Coordination: Support hybrid/on‑prem/cloud PDM

environments; collaborate with IT on Azure, GCC High, and identity

integrations.

* Integration Management: Maintain integrations with CAD tools, ERP, MES, PLM,

and similar interfacing systems.

* User Support & Training: Review engineering drawings and/or specifications

and provide guidance to design and modeling practices. Provide Tier‑2/Tier‑3

support, develop training materials, and drive user adoption. Provide

training and guidance to team members on tools, standards, and best practices

* Security & Compliance: Ensure adherence to CUI, ITAR, SOX, NIST 800‑53, and

internal audit requirements.

* Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for automation, workflow

optimizations, and system enhancements. Monitor and improve Parts Library

processes for efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

* Stakeholder Management and Crossfunctional Coordination: Collaborate with

engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and IPS teams to ensure part

availability and accuracy.

Supervisory Responsibilities

* Manage a team of PDM Administrators and Component Specialists, providing

leadership, mentorship, and performance evaluations.

* Assign tasks, set priorities, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.

* Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the Business Systems Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

* 5+ years of experience administering PDM, Autodesk Vault, Teamcenter,

Windchill, or similar systems

* Proficiency in SolidWorks, SolidWorks Electrical, and familiarity with

3DExperience and Costpoint

* Familiarity with integration between PDM and ERP systems

* Strong understanding of SQL, metadata structures, archive server

architecture, and PDM workflows

* Demonstrated experience with SDLC, structured change control, and

configuration governance

* Familiarity with Azure, hybrid cloud environments, and secure government

cloud frameworks

* Experience in parts management, configuration management, or related fields

* Working knowledge of ANSI Y14.1, ANSI/EIA 649, and ISO-9000 standards

* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills

* Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration abilities

* Ability to drive process improvements and implement best practices

Desired

* Experience with data governance, parts standardization, and digital library

management.

* Familiarity of DoW/Navy contract requirements and compliance processes.

* Ability to obtain security clearance.

* Recognized for achievements, technical expertise, and professional standing

within selected field.

* Prior supervisory or functional leader experience

* Technical training in CAD software, Engineering, or Electronics.

The salary range for this position is $128,100 - $192,100
