Data Engineer

Position Summary

This is an ONSITE position located in Alexandria, VA.

National Capitol Contracting is seeking a Data Engineer to join our team in support of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The USPTO fosters innovation and economic growth by administering the nation's patent and trademark systems.

This position provides engineering support for enterprise data integration, communications, and Microsoft 365 collaboration infrastructure. The role designs, implements, maintains, and optimizes data flows, integrations, connectivity, and supporting technologies required to sustain secure and resilient collaboration services.

Key Areas of Responsibility

* Engineer and maintain enterprise data integrations supporting Microsoft 365 collaboration services.

* Design, implement, and support data exchange, APIs, interfaces, and communication pathways between enterprise platforms.

* Support migrations, deployments, testing, configuration management, and production operations.

* Monitor system performance, investigate incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

* Support automation, scripting, and data processing activities improving operational efficiency.

* Develop engineering documentation, interface specifications, and operational procedures.

* Coordinate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and application teams to implement secure technical solutions.

* Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend engineering improvements.

* Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

* Experience engineering enterprise data integration or communications solutions.

* Experience with APIs, scripting, SQL, ETL, or data integration technologies.

* Experience supporting production operations and technical troubleshooting.

* Strong analytical and engineering documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• * Azure Data Engineer or equivalent certification.
• * Experience supporting Federal Government environments.
• * ITIL Foundation certification

Compensation

$120,000.00 - $130,000.00

The compensation range listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role.
