Job DetailsJob Location: Data Center - McAllen - McAllen, TX 78504JOB SUMMARY Lone Star National Bank is seeking a highly motivated Cloud Engineer responsible for the design, implementation, administration, security, and optimization of the Bank's cloud, hybrid, and integration platforms.
This role supports the Bank's digital transformation initiatives by ensuring cloud services, data platforms, APIs, and infrastructure services are secure, resilient, scalable, compliant, and aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
The Cloud Engineer will work closely with Infrastructure, Network Engineers, Information Security, Application Support, Data, and Business teams to deliver modern cloud solutions that support critical banking applications, cybersecurity initiatives, enterprise integrations, analytics platforms, AI initiatives, and operational efficiencies.
This position will support technologies including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Integration Services, API Management, Azure AI Services, and future cloud and data platform technologies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES The duties listed below may not include all the responsibilities that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties, as assigned, including cross training across other departments, as necessary.
Design, Implement, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure solutions in Microsoft Azure and hybrid environments. Evaluate and recommend cloud technologies that improve operational efficiency, security, and scalability. Implement and maintain cloud security controls including identity and access management, encryption, and network segmentation.
Ensure cloud environments comply with FFIEC, PCI DSS, NIST, FDIC, and internal security requirements. Support audits and regulatory examinations related to cloud technologies. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and cloud service issues.
Participate in after-hours support and critical incident escalations as required. Define API governance standards, authentication models, security controls, monitoring, and lifecycle management. Ensure all integrations are designed using reusable, maintainable, and standards-based approaches.
Establish standards for data structures, metadata management, data quality, lineage, and governance. Ensure cloud platforms are architected to support future use cases including Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI Services, Copilot technologies, and advanced analytics. QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position.

Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum three (3) years of experience administering cloud, data platform, integration, or hybrid environments. Experience with enterprise data initiatives involving Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2), analytics platforms, and reporting solutions. Experience designing middleware and API frameworks supporting core banking applications.
Experience establishing cloud governance, architecture review boards, and design standards. Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, API-first design principles, microservices, and event-driven architecture. Evaluate cloud technologies and guide business and technical teams toward best-practice implementations.
Experience with Windows Server environments. Partner with Information Security to identify and remediate cloud security risks and vulnerabilities. Excellence in communicating business risk and remediation requirements from assessments.
Analytical and problem-solving mindset. Highly organized and efficient. Experience in the banking or financial services sector.
(Preferred) ORGANIZATION This position is reported directly to Technical Operations Manager TRAINING REQUIREMENTS All employees are required to attend scheduled mandatory training courses and complete online regulatory compliance training courses applicable to their specific job function. In all situations, employees must ensure that their actions fully comply with all federal banking laws and regulations, including internal bank policies and procedures.
Failure to adhere to these requirements will be grounds for disciplinary action, including probation and possible termination.
