Sr. Network Engineer

Leidos is searching for an experienced and fully cleared Network Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA. The team is made-up of highly technical and motivated individuals. The engineer for this role will assist in troubleshooting complex problems and implementing cutting-edge solutions.

As such, this individual must be an excellent problem solver and work well in a collaborative team environment. Candidate must have proven hands-on experience working as a network engineer. OCONUS experience is highly desired. 50% travel to OCONUS location.

The program is made up of CONUS and OCONUS teams who regularly interact across varying time zones. As a result, the candidate must have excellent communication skills and be flexible with regards to teamwork and tasking. A demonstrated ability to perform in cross-functional teams to achieve results in a timely manner is desired.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot network appliances (routers, switches, and firewalls) Monitor entire network infrastructure (LAN & WAN) and provide regular reporting Collaborate closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure network optimization and the completion of other tasks Ensure network uptime, performance, and security Document and enforce network standards Manage and maintain IP addressing schema Travel OCONUS as needed Maintain network lab in Chantilly, VA REQUIRED Skills, Experience, and Education: Master's degree and at least 12 years minimum experience depending on education, training, skills and experience.
• Experience requirement may be reduced with Doctorate degree in network engineering, computer science, or related subject.
• Must possess an active and in-scope TS/SCI With Poly to be considered Active/current basic CCNA certification Solid understanding of OSI or TCP/IP model Hands-on experience with network monitoring, network diagnostics, and network analytics tools Experience configuring/troubleshooting Cisco appliances Experience configuring/troubleshooting routing and switching, including routing protocols Experience writing scripts for Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls Ability to work well individually, as well as within a team environment, and always maintain professional behavior with all stakeholders.
