What will you do at Leidos?
Leidos is seeking a DevOps Engineer (Tier 3) to support a government contract in the National Capital Region (NCR). The ideal candidate will be able to support, maintain, and develop custom software applications and services. The DevOps Engineer (Tier 3) will be responsible for creating, testing, updating, and maintaining source code for custom software applications and services written in various programming languages and implemented in both Windows and Linux Operating System environments.

Responsibilities
- Develop and/or modify custom applications and scripts implemented across multiple platforms
- Maintain custom software applications and services
- Recommend and implement improvements to existing software solutions
- Maintain system architecture to ensure versatility and consistency across multiple platforms
- Provide input to software configuration and system documentation, improvements to capabilities, build roadmaps, and update software as required
- Attend meetings and reviews
- Communicate with internal team members across multiple areas, the program manager, and customer team members
- Communicate with external parties such as mission partners and vendors as required

Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI w/polygraph
- Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with at least 6 years of prior relevant experience. May have 12+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
- Demonstrated custom development experience using Linux based servers and appliances
- Demonstrated 3+ years of experience using Rust and/or Python to develop applications and services. Experience with Rust strongly preferred; candidates with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new languages will also be considered
- Demonstrated experience implementing automation tools using Ansible
- Demonstrated experience implementing custom apps using Docker containers
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining custom application code bases
- Demonstrate strong written/verbal communications, problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills including willingness and ability to document and share information
- Able to work well in a team environment and as an individual contributor
- Experience with agile development methodologies

- Rust (e.g. Actix, Rocket, or Warp, Wasm for client-side Rust Code)

- Knowledgeable in developing automation solutions for routine processes such as alerting and logging (e.g. PowerShell for scripting automation)
- Knowledgeable of web-based application development and best practices
- Knowledgeable of custom browser plugin development
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
- Ability to integrate AI models into web applications

- Security+
- ITIL v3 Foundation
- Certified System Administrator
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
- Web Application Pen Testing Certifications

- Pay Range:
- Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00
- The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
