Information Security Engineer 4

Job Summary

Lam Research is seeking an Information Security Engineer to support the engineering, implementation, and ongoing operation of enterprise security platforms. This role is responsible for maintaining and improving security tooling to strengthen the organization’s detection, prevention, and response capabilities. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including security operations, infrastructure, and IT, to ensure tools are effectively deployed, configured, and aligned with security standards.

Job Responsibilities

Support the engineering, implementation, and lifecycle management of assigned security tools and platforms

Maintain and optimize tool configurations in alignment with security standards and industry best practices

Contribute to continuous improvement of detection, prevention, and response capabilities

Assist in identifying and remediating configuration gaps, coverage issues, and security findings

Participate in security reviews and provide input on architecture and design decisions

Support development of operational metrics and reporting to track tool effectiveness and security posture

Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., SOC, IT, cloud, infrastructure) to drive alignment and integration

Document processes, configurations, and standard operating procedures

Required knowledge/skills

Foundational experience in Information Security Engineering and security tools/platforms

Hands-on experience with one or more security domains (e.g., endpoint, identity, network, or cloud security)

Understanding of core security concepts such as access control, endpoint protection, and threat detection

Familiarity with integrating security tools with supporting platforms (e.g., endpoint management, logging, SIEM/SOAR)

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred qualifications

Experience working in a large enterprise or global environment

Exposure to cloud platforms and associated security controls

Ability to analyze complex technical issues and contribute to practical solutions

Strong collaboration skills and experience working across cross-functional teams

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week.

‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Salary

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $92,000.00 - $211,000.00.

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role.

Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
