About the role
What will you do at Kobalt Labs?
About Kobalt Labs
Kobalt is the AI-native compliance operating system for financial institutions (FIs). Compliance is critical for FIs to get right, but most of their work still happens manually, in legacy technology or Excel. Banks, credit unions, and fintechs across the country use Kobalt to run third party due diligence, screen marketing collateral, and stay current with the ever-changing regulatory landscape.
Since our Series A, we've grown revenue more than 5x and work with some of the most notable names in financial services, including Chime, Upstart, and Affirm.
The Role
We're looking for someone to build Kobalt's marketing motion from the ground up. You'll work directly with our founders and our Sales and Partnerships teams to drive demand across content, events, customer marketing, partnerships, sales enablement, and our web presence. You'll have a lot of ownership over what we do and how we do it, but this is first and foremost an execution role: you'll be the person turning ideas into things that actually ship.
We sell into a relationship-driven industry. That means marketing at Kobalt might look like getting ten bank executives around a dinner table, turning a great customer outcome into a case study, or working with Partnerships on an industry association event. A big part of this role is making Kobalt impossible to miss.
You'll work closely with our founders and team to create content every day, build their individual voices, and turn what's happening across Kobalt into a consistent presence on LinkedIn and beyond. We're looking for someone resourceful, creative, and fast. You should be just as comfortable figuring out what we should do as you are writing the copy, finding the venue, getting the right people in the room, and measuring whether it worked.
What You'll Do
- Build and run marketing programs that generate qualified pipeline, working closely with Sales on our target accounts, buying process, and what resonates with prospects.
- Run events ranging from intimate customer and prospect dinners to roundtables, conferences, and industry events.
- Turn our customers and their results into great content, including case studies, customer spotlights, webinars, announcements, and other stories.
- Own Kobalt's LinkedIn presence.
- Work directly with our founders and broader team to create content every day, develop their individual voices, and consistently turn customer conversations, company milestones, product launches, events, and industry insights into posts worth reading.
- Work closely with Partnerships on events, co-marketing, industry associations, and other opportunities to get Kobalt in front of the right people.
- Create opportunities for our customers to learn from one another and build a stronger community around Kobalt.
- Work with our founders on our web presence, particularly messaging and content.
- Measure what's working and use it to decide what we do more of next.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience marketing a B2B product, ideally at a startup or growth-stage company.
- A strong portfolio of B2B content you've personally written, from social and thought leadership to customer stories and company announcements.
- Experience owning marketing programs end-to-end, with a track record of driving demand and measurable results.
- Experience working closely with Sales and Partnerships to reach and engage prospective customers.
- Experience with field marketing, customer marketing, or events is a plus.
