Join Huron's AI Engineering practice as a Cloud Engineer and play a key role in delivering cloud infrastructure that powers our AI solutions across client engagements and internal delivery assets. You'll design, build, and operate cloud-native environments as part of our cross-functional delivery model, working alongside engineers, architects, and client teams to ensure every environment is secure, scalable, and production-ready.
This role is a strong foundation for growth into cloud architecture responsibilities over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, provision, and operate end-to-end cloud environments across client and internal use cases.
- Build and manage Infrastructure as Code using tooling such as Terraform and CDK.
- Design and provision data engineering pipelines and AI/ML and LLM infrastructure.
- Set up DevOps pipelines for data engineering, AI, and other solution components.
- Containerize and deploy applications across cloud-native compute and serverless services.
- Set up and maintain observability foundations: logging, monitoring, alerting, and cost tracking.
- Ensure secure deployments across identity, networking, and secrets management.
- Implement compliance guardrails aligned to regulated environment requirements.
- Produce runbooks, operational documentation, and support handoff processes.
- Review infrastructure designs and IaC produced by others.
- Serve as the cloud lead on client engagements, representing infrastructure decisions to client stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects, Engineers, and client IT and security teams to align infrastructure with engagement requirements.
- Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or platform infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to design and provision cloud infrastructure on at least one major cloud platform.
- Proficient with AI/ML and LLM infrastructure on at least one major cloud platform.
- Production-grade experience with Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience setting up Hub and Spoke architectures spanning dev, QA, staging, and prod environments.
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking and security.
- Preferred: Cloud certification on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong communication skills with client-facing experience.
- 5+ years in a consulting or client-delivery context preferred.
- Flexible living locations across US or Canada, ability to travel as needed for client demand
- The estimated base salary for this job is $155,000 - $175,000. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy. Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $186,000 - $210,000. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs.
