About the Role
The Embedded Software team is responsible for the software running on Hark’s next generation of AI hardware, and we are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team. You will be working cross functionally with the Firmware, Device Software, QA, Manufacturing and Operations team.
You will architect and implement our CI/CD pipelines, create and maintain build and release infrastructure, develop internal tools, manage automation and artifacts, and constantly improve our build, deployment, and infrastructure for all Hark devices.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize our CI/CD pipelines to support embedded software delivery, including internal clients
- Administer build infrastructure, including job configuration, plugin management, and performance tuning.
- Monitor and troubleshoot build systems, ensuring high availability and rapid response to issues.
- Scale infrastructure to meet growing demands and proactively address performance bottlenecks.
- Ensure security, compliance, and best practices across build and deployment systems.
- Manages device OTA, scheduled rollout, and fleet management
Requirements
- 5+ years of practical experience in DevOps for Embedded Systems and/or consumer electronics products
- Advanced experience with industry standard CI/CD pipeline automation and tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) is essential.
- Proficiency in shell scripting and Python, along with advanced debugging skills
- Experience with embedded system software build system for bare metal, RTOSes, and/or Linux/Android based systems
- Proficient with Git and collaborative version control practices.
- Experience with modern OTA systems including A/B image management, compression and delta update
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are needed to work effectively within a cross-functional team
- Bonus Qualifications
- Advanced-level skills in Linux system administration
- Proficiency in GitLab CI
- Experience with AOSP build systems
- Hands-on knowledge of hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing or FPGA simulation and regression testing frameworks.
- Understanding of secure build pipelines, artifact signing
- Experience with traceable FPGA release management.
Compensation
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $150,000 - $300,000 annually.
The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role. This information will be shared if an employment offer is extended.
