About the team
This team will own the Catalog and Merchant platforms — the core domain models and services that power our merchant subsystem and drive discovery across the diner experience.
The Impact You Will Make: You’ll gain expertise in your domain and build highly scalable & reliable additions to our platform You’ll be accountable for delivery, deployment, maintenance, and monitoring the performance of your applications and the platform as a whole You’ll evaluate tools, technologies, frameworks, and vendors for the platform along with other senior team members You’ll write performant and concise code to meet the defined standards here at GrubHub, review the code of peers, and ensure security and scalability of the features you work on You’ll help to create the backlog of tech debt and features, suggesting areas for improvement and enhancement You’ll actively work with other team members in the domain and be a team player What You Bring to the Table: 8+ years of relevant software development industry experience in a fast-paced tech environment.
Experience building services that enable high-scale, performant client applications (both server and UI). Strong coding abilities (Java, Kotlin, Scala / Python / C++ or equivalent) and experience with architectural patterns of large application-driven products. Demonstrated hands-on expertise in architecting, building, and maintaining highly available services in a large service-oriented architecture.
Experience in partnering with other leaders in setting product strategy. Experience building versioned, public APIs consumed by external applications. Shipped several large scale projects with multiple dependencies across teams.
Technical leadership and strong communication skills with ability to lead other experienced engineers. Base Salary: NYC: $240,000 - $249,500 Wonder uses geographic-specific salary structures, which means the salary offered may vary depending on where the job is located. The final salary offer will take into account various factors, such as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience.
