MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
* 8 years of experience programming in C++, Java, Python, Kotlin, or Go.
* 5 years of experience testing and launching software products.
* 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
* 3 years of experience developing or architecting enterprise sales systems,
contract management, or Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) billing platforms.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* 10 years of experience in software engineering/architecture, with at 5 years
functioning as an Enterprise Architect for a SaaS enterprise.
* 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams
and setting technical direction.
* 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving
cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
* Experience leading full-lifecycle implementations and support of enterprise
SaaS systems.
* Experience with Salesforce and Configure Price Quote (CPQ) platforms.
* Understanding of REST/SOAP APIs, event-driven architecture, and enterprise
integration partners.

The Area Tech Leads team mission is to establish and drive the architectural
outlook for Google Cloud Business Platform (GCBP) to facilitate the scaling of
the Google Cloud business. This requires implementing a highly scalable,
platform/product-oriented approach to GCBP systems that provides the necessary
commercial flexibility for the business teams.
As Staff Software Engineer, you will be a technical visionary responsible for
designing and scaling the core transaction engine of our global commerce
platform. You will own the end-to-end architecture from Opportunity to Order and
transactional integrity. You will lead the design of highly available, secure,
and distributed systems that process high-volume enterprise transactions,
ensuring seamless integration between upstream purchasing experiences and
downstream billing and fulfillment systems.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills,
experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $207000 - $300000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Own the technical architecture for the enterprise sales systems landscape,
ensuring alignment with broader corporate infrastructure and business
objectives.
* Design scalable, resilient, and high-performing solutions capable of handling
enterprise-level transaction volumes, complex multi-currency pricing, and
global business processes.
* Architect complex CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) solutions and ensure the
architecture seamlessly supports downstream billing, revenue recognition, and
renewals processes (e.g. Quote-to-Cash).
* Design and optimize the integration of enterprise Contract Lifecycle
Management (CLM) solutions, including dynamic agreement generation and
electronic signature workflows.
* Act as an enterprise architect, providing technical leadership and guiding
architecture across an engineering organization.
