What will you do at Google?
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
* 5 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or
threat modeling.
* 5 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network
security and security protocols.
* 5 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
* 1 year of experience leading teams in a technical capacity or leading
technical risk analysis in an enterprise environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience working with cloud tools like Terraform.
* Experience with GCP.
ABOUT THE JOB:
Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment
for Google's users and developers. Security Engineers work with network
equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this
role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix
security flaws and vulnerabilities.
The AutoVM Cloud Usage taskforce is responsible for the vulnerability management
of Alphabet's GCP usage. We work on the problem by keeping Google safe from
external attackers, ensuring that exploitable vulnerabilities are detected and
closed quickly.
We operate across the organization, working with partner teams to ensure their
cloud posture is secure while identifying vulnerabilities in all parts of the
cloud stack: from virtual machine kernel bugs all the way to toxic combination
of misconfigurations.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills,
experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $174000 - $252000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Identify security issues and implement and design security controls, tools,
and services to improve security systems and processes.
* Define the infrastructure to analyze, deploy, and manage vulnerability
management across Google.
* Build a data driven approach to identify existing vulnerabilities to improve
the security posture of Alphabet's use of GCP.
* Partner with other security engineers and teams to prioritize and execute on
security debt reduction efforts to deliver the team's objectives and key
results.
