MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
* 15 years of work experience in software, hardware, or infrastructure
engineering, with a focus on technical innovation and engineering leadership
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master’s degree or PhD in an AI related field
* Entrepreneur or startup experience within a larger organization
* Knowledge of Cloud or AI (builder, code and design savvy)
* Recognized expert in the field of AI, with examples of products, platforms or
experiences built with AI at its core

The Office of the CTO (OCTO) in Google Cloud has leveraged this insight,
combined with the direct sponsorship of the Cloud CTO and CEO, to help our most
strategic customers transform their organizations using small, adaptable teams
and methods, while concurrently supporting our internal collaborators as they
take these early technology proof points and build them into scaled products and
platforms.
As a Principal Software Engineer, Applied AI, Office of the CTO, Google Cloud,
you will create and reinforce the human pathways between Google Engineering and
our most strategic customers and partners, allowing all of us to start from
loosely defined, potentially transformative market opportunities and convert
them into new, technology-enabled businesses. You will help our customers create
their future and help us create the future of Google by continuously tuning our
innovation system and products to the needs of the world’s most complex
enterprises.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills,
experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $281000 - $392000 (USD) + 30% bonus target + equity + benefits

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Partner with our engineering and product teams to identify and test
strategic, horizontal opportunities for differentiation across our roadmaps
with a particular focus on AI.
* Identify future state of Cloud products and partner closely with technical
teams to chart how we’d bring those future states to life.
* Help our most strategic customers and partners work through the complexity of
adopting cutting edge cloud and AI technologies through expert advice.
* Inspire others internally and externally to work through difficult and
disruptive endeavors through sharing experiences, successes, failures and the
human side of advanced technology development and adoption.
