MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software
Engineering or a related field and 8 years of progressive post-baccalaureate,
experience in the job offered or in a Manager, Software Engineer, Site
Reliability Engineering-related occupation.
* Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer
Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field, and 6 years of
experience in the job offered or in a Manager, Software Engineer, Site
Reliability Engineering-related occupation.
* Position requires 6 years of experience in the following: Software
development in one or more programming languages or Code evaluation and
software optimization; Design, analysis, and troubleshooting of distributed
systems or Systems architecture optimization for testability, performance,
and reliability; Team management and personnel development or Performance
feedback and coaching; Strategic alignment of team goals with organizational
objectives or Organizational change management and direction-setting; and
System risk management regarding dependencies and features or Technical
judgment for evaluating engineering solutions.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $221,200 - $300,000 +
20% bonus target + equity + benefits determined by role, level, and location.
Individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related

Position reports to the Google San Francisco, CA office & may allow for a hybrid
schedule as per Google policy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Lead a team of engineers to maintain service uptime while managing global
on-call rotations and evaluating technical contributions.
* Design and deliver software that optimizes availability, scalability, and
efficiency while building automation to prevent problem recurrence.
* Develop and execute mid-term technical roadmaps that align with future
infrastructure needs and prioritize engineering excellence.
* Guide system architecture by vetting designs, breaking down complex problems,
and assessing trade-offs to ensure coherent solutions.
* Oversee cross-team engineering projects and improve operational practices to
drive reliability, maintainability, and stakeholder alignment. Mentor team
members and drive organizational growth through active participation in
hiring, training, and community development initiatives.
