Network Engineer (AWS Cloud)
Location: Portsmouth, NH (Hybrid – 2-3 Days/Week)

Project Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Network Engineer (AWS Cloud) to support enterprise networking and cloud infrastructure initiatives. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining both traditional and AWS cloud networking environments while ensuring compliance with NIST 800-53 security standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with AWS networking, Cisco technologies, Terraform, network security, and cloud migration projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise WAN/LAN and AWS cloud networking infrastructure.
- Configure and manage AWS networking components, including Gateway Load Balancers (GWLB), VPCs, and network endpoints.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Configure and support Cisco routing, switching, VPNs, and secure network connectivity.
- Manage Palo Alto firewalls and application-layer security controls.
- Monitor network availability, troubleshoot outages, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent solutions.
- Support remote access solutions including RSA and GlobalProtect.
- Configure and maintain Load Balancers, WAF, DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, TACACS+, and BGP.
- Ensure compliance with NIST 800-53 and corporate security standards.
- Lead infrastructure projects and collaborate with security, cloud, and operations teams.
- Mandatory Skills
- 7+ years of enterprise network engineering experience supporting 24x7 environments.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Networking and cloud migration projects.
- Strong experience configuring Gateway Load Balancers (GWLB) and AWS networking services.
- Hands-on expertise with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
- Strong Cisco Routing & Switching, VPN, and enterprise networking experience.
- Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls.
- Experience with Load Balancers, WAF, DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, TACACS+, and BGP.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience supporting network security and regulatory compliance initiatives.
- Nice-to-Have Skills
- CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, PCNSA, or PCNSE certifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- Experience with enterprise cloud transformation and AWS migration projects.
- Knowledge of NIST 800-53 security controls and best practices.
