those strategic choices into tangible business propositions. We represent the
voice of the customer as we build distinctive, always-on connected vehicle
technologies and services that transform the ownership experience.
The Software Engineering Delivery Manager leads delivery, maintenance, and
support of critical cloud platform components that enable Ford’s connected
vehicle capabilities, including connectivity platform integration for the Ford
Volkswagen Alliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position...
This role is responsible for the development, maintenance, and production
support of multiple highly critical cloud platform components within Ford’s
Vehicle, Mobile and Cloud organization, specifically the Device Connectivity
Platform. The position owns software delivery required to seamlessly integrate
Ford’s Connectivity Platform as part of the Ford Volkswagen Alliance, supporting
both Ford-engineered and Volkswagen-engineered partnership models
What you'll do...
The Software Engineering Manager will help monitor cost and quality, support
transformation efforts toward Ford’s Converged Connectivity strategy, and lead a
sizable team through complex, high-visibility initiatives in an always-on
connected vehicle environment. The role requires a strong combination of
technical acumen, people leadership, collaboration, and the ability to make
informed decisions across both technical implementation and broader product
lifecycle direction
* Lead development, maintenance, delivery, and support of cloud-based platform
software supporting Ford connected vehicle capabilities.
* Own software required for Ford Volkswagen Alliance connectivity integration
across Ford-engineered and Volkswagen-engineered partnership models.
* Manage delivery priorities for critical production platform components in an
always-on environment.
* Monitor and improve cost, quality, reliability, and delivery performance for
supported platform capabilities.
* Support transformation efforts aligned to Ford’s Converged Connectivity
strategy.
* Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 6–10 GSR and agency direct
reports.
* Collaborate closely with global engineering teams, product teams, integration
teams, service teams, and partner organizations.
* Translate technical implementation details and partner OEM connectivity
approaches into clear direction for internal stakeholders.
* Make informed decisions across technical design, software implementation,
program execution, and product lifecycle direction.
* Drive process discipline and continuous improvement in a constructive,
non-confrontational manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
You'll have...
Bachelor’s degree Computer Science or equivalent degree in a relevant field
* 5+ years of progressive responsibility in cloud-based or technically aligned
functions.
* Experience designing, deploying, and supporting cloud-based solutions in
production environments.
* Working knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Docker, Google Cloud Platform, APIs,
systems integration, and data exchange methods.
* Knowledge of security considerations for cloud-based software solutions.
* Experience supporting critical applications in a 24/7 global always-on
environment.
* Experience leading global teams and collaborating across engineering,
product, service, and partner organizations.
* Strong communication, collaboration, networking, and relationship-building
skills.
* Ability to manage technical staff while balancing empathy, accountability,
and clear direction.
* Ability to work through ambiguity, adapt quickly to new technologies, and act
as a change agent with peers and partner teams.
* Strong technical acumen in cloud computing platforms, infrastructure
architecture, application software, and connected vehicle technologies.
* Knowledge of Agile methodology and associated management tools such as Jira.
* Data-driven decision-making mindset, with the ability to reach sound
conclusions using imperfect or incomplete data.

* Willingness to travel to Europe approximately 2–3 times per year, depending
on vehicle program timelines.

This position is leadership level 6 and ranges from $132,800-$250,800.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and
experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to
job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
