About the role
What will you do at Emergent?
Emergent builds autonomous coding agents that replace traditional software development by generating, testing, and deploying production applications directly from plain-language intent. Our systems run in production at global scale and are used to build millions of real applications. Since our public launch, we've crossed $130M in Annualised Revenue and grown to over 10M users across 190+ countries , who have built 12M+ applications on Emergent.
We're backed by Creaegis, Khosla Ventures, SoftBank, Lightspeed, Together, Y Combinator, Google, Claypond and Sentinel Global. We're solving the hard part of AI-driven software creation: correctness, reliability, security, and scale in real production systems. The team is built by repeat founders, Olympiad medalists, IIT & IIM alumni, and leaders from Google, Amazon, and Dropbox.
We're hiring builders who want ownership, speed, and impact at global scale. What you'll own — A team's area that spans multiple systems: the platform that runs every agent job — orchestration to sandbox — or the serving layer across routing, quotas, cost, and reliability. Its roadmap, quality, on-call health, and RCA follow-through are yours.
You trade off what your team needs this quarter against what the platform needs next year. The bar: launches with measurable business impact while incident rate trends down as scope grows — and the area keeps running when you're out, because you've grown the people who can carry it. How you'll work — You build the tooling, evals, and workflows that multiply the whole team — the kind other engineers use daily without being told to.
Your team's CI/CD and test frameworks are yours — kept current enough that agent-built changes arrive with auditable verification evidence, so approval is a judgment call, not a leap of faith. A new engineer — and their agent — is productive in your area in the first week.
What we look for
- A design doc and an RCA you can defend end-to-end: alternatives, failure modes, rollout and rollback, and the follow-through that stuck.
- Architecture change you led across multiple systems: quantified the bottleneck, preserved compatibility through migration, and others extended it after you without redesigning its core.
- You grow engineers with calibrated feedback on L4/L5 designs; product is a peer, not a queue.

and Perks: Daily Meals: Lunch and Dinner provided Family Insurance: 5 Lakhs worth of coverage for you and your family Unlimited Paid Time Off: Take the time you need to recharge and come back refreshed Flexible Working Hours: Work arrangements that fit your life and commitments Let's build the future of software together.
