About the Role
As CoStar’s next Software Engineer, you will have a direct impact on highly visible CoStar Suite web applications that touch millions of users. You continuously learn emerging technologies and architecture advancements and apply the learnings to improve CoStar’s software products. This position is located in Arlington, VA and is onsite Monday – Thursday, option to work from home on Friday.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop high performance web applications used by thousands of users globally Drive continuous improvement by focusing on engineering excellence Influence CI/CD pipeline improvements Collaborate closely with other Software Engineers across the organization.
- Mentor junior developers, review code and architecture, and promote software development best practices Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends and best practices that can be used to strengthen CoStar’s technology platform and development practices Develop and maintain an in-depth working knowledge of the CRE Industry and CoStar’s business model / technology Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not for profit, in-person university or college.
- A track record of commitment to prior employers 3+ years of production development experience in modern technologies, like React, Vue, TypeScript, NodeJS, C#, .
- Net, OpenSearch, Kafka, SQL, NoSQL A demonstrable track record of building and launching successful products and platforms Experience with cloud technologies like AWS, Cloud Managed Services, etc.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum processes, and Continuous delivery practices Experienced in unit, performance, and automation testing Deeply understand what drives the business for which you are building software Take an active role in mentoring developers with ability to build consensus Preferred Qualifications and Skills Experience managing a large Enterprise level code base, code quality and dependencies Experience with React and/or Nodejs in particular Excellent written and verbal communication skills Commercial Real Estate (CRE) knowledge is a bonus What’s in it for You When you join CoStar Group, you’ll experience a collaborative and innovative culture working alongside the best and brightest to empower our people and customers to succeed.
