Software Engineer II - Distributed Systems at Citus Data

About the role

What will you do at Citus Data?

Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable and reliable software solutions. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while following engineering best practices, coding standards, and team guidelines. Use debugging tools, logs, telemetry, and monitoring systems to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.

Participate in root cause analysis and implement fixes to improve service reliability and performance. Participate in code reviews by providing and incorporating constructive feedback. Ensure code meets quality, security, reliability, and maintainability standards before deployment.

Contribute to the design and implementation of product features and services. Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to evaluate technical approaches, document designs, and implement solutions that meet business and engineering requirements. Create and maintain automated tests, including unit and integration tests, to ensure product quality and reliability.

Continuously improve test coverage and support CI/CD practices. Work with engineers across teams to understand dependencies, integrations, and system interactions. Help ensure solutions are secure, performant, and aligned with overall platform architecture.

Partner with product managers, designers, and engineering teammates to understand customer and business requirements. Incorporate feedback and telemetry insights to improve product experiences and deliver customer value. Learn and apply engineering best practices, new technologies, and development methodologies while contributing to a culture of collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience 1+ years professional experience in enterprise level distributed systems Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
