Engineer at Capital Group.” As a Senior Engineer on our enterprise-wide
technology team, you won't just maintain infrastructure — you'll architect the
backbone of Capital Group's cloud ecosystem. Your work will power the
automation, tooling, and platform capabilities that thousands of engineers rely
on every day to deliver business-critical applications and services at scale.
What You'll Do
- Architect & Innovate — Design, develop, and optimize
- sophisticated cloud infrastructure automation on AWS, pushing the boundaries of
- what Infrastructure as Code can achieve across the enterprise. Infuse AI into
- Infrastructure — Leverage AI and machine learning capabilities to build
- intelligent automation — from predictive scaling and anomaly detection to
- AI-powered troubleshooting, self-healing systems, and intelligent resource
- optimization that make the platform smarter with every deployment. Empower Teams
- — Build self-service capabilities that enable internal engineering teams to move
- faster, deploy with confidence, and leverage Capital Group's cloud platform
- without friction — including AI-assisted developer tools and copilot-driven
- workflows. Collaborate Cross-Functionally — Partner with software engineers,
- platform engineers, product managers, and product owners to deliver high-quality
- features across the full Internal Developer Platform product lifecycle. Secure
- the Enterprise — Work hand-in-hand with security, risk, and compliance teams to
- embed protection into every layer of the platform — making security a feature,
- not a bottleneck. Drive Engineering Excellence — Champion best practices,
- optimize performance, and establish scalable automation patterns — including
- AI-augmented operational practices — that elevate the entire organization's
- engineering maturity. Developer Experience - Obsessively refactor IaC modules to
- ensure they are so intuitive, self-documenting, and foolproof that developers
- can provision complex infrastructure in seconds, not hours. Own the IaC
- developer experience end-to-end: build agentic workflows and tooling, author
- custom Terraform providers in Go, and expose Terraform Enterprise capabilities
- through thoughtfully designed interfaces that make every internal customer's
- interaction feel effortless “I am the person Capital Group is looking for.”
- Required
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Infrastructure Automation
- and/or Platform Engineering with public and private cloud 4+ years of
- expert-level Terraform/OpenTofu experience in large-scale production
- environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Advanced scripting skills in PowerShell,
- Python, and Bash Strong experience creating modules from scratch, managing
- complex state files, and HCL Proven hands-on experience with Terraform
- Enterprise and related infrastructure-as-code technologies Experience in
- creating custom Terraform providers with GoLang Experience in integrating
- automation with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Harness, GitOps ) Hands
- on experience leveraging AI‑assisted development tools, automation agents, or
- platform‑level AI capabilities to improve engineering productivity, reliability,
- and scale, while complying with approved enterprise AI platforms, security
- controls, and audit requirement Strong understanding of version control, secure
- coding practices, and peer-reviewed development workflows Background in Linux,
- networking, and Kubernetes Understanding of TLS certificate chains, the TLS
- security framework and IAM platforms ( e.g. Okta, Active Directory) Experienced
- in Agile/SCRUM methodologies with a focus on product delivery Strong desire to
- lead, mentor and contribute to a culture of excellence Excellent problem-solving
- skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a
- related technical field Certifications such as Terraform Associate, AWS
- Certifications Experience with pipeline governance and API development
- Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, and observability tools (e.g., Datadog,
- Splunk) Experience automating request workflows in platforms like ServiceNow,
- Harness and Backstage.io Exposure to container platforms such as Kubernetes and

- Base Salary Range: $136,749-$218,798 Southern California Base Salary Range:
- $159,354-$254,966 In addition to a highly
- competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting
- requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance
- bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where
- Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings. You can learn more about our
