What will you do at SAIC?

SAIC is seeking a Cloud Engineer II to support the design, implementation,

automation, integration, and sustainment of secure cloud, hybrid cloud, and

edge-to-cloud environments for Navy and DoW mission capabilities. This role

supports cloud architecture activities aligned to warfighter needs, distributed

maritime operations, DevSecOps practices, Infrastructure as Code, and secure

platform operations across AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, on-premises,

tactical, and on-platform compute environments. The candidate will work with

senior architects, engineers, cybersecurity personnel, operators, and program

stakeholders to help develop scalable, secure, and mission-ready cloud solutions

while supporting documentation, troubleshooting, deployment, and compliance

activities.

In this role, you’ll contribute to Naval Operational Architecture (NOA),

working alongside engineers and operators to deliver resilient, forward-leaning

solutions in support of national defense.

THIS IS AN ONSITE ROLE IN SAN DIEGO, CA. WITH UP TO 5% OF TRAVEL INVOLVED

JOB DUTIES:

* Support the design, implementation, configuration, integration, and

sustainment of secure cloud and hybrid cloud architectures aligned to

warfighter needs and Navy mission objectives.

* Assist with the development of hybrid edge-to-cloud architectures by

supporting integration of edge nodes, tactical compute, on-platform systems,

on-premises infrastructure, and cloud environments.

* Support cloud architecture activities across multi-classification

environments, while assisting with documentation of cross-domain and

multi-level security considerations.

* Support cloud deployments across AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, on-premises,

tactical, and containerized environments by assisting with compute, storage,

networking, identity, security, and monitoring configurations.

* Develop, maintain, and improve Infrastructure as Code and automation scripts

to support repeatable provisioning, configuration, deployment, monitoring,

and sustainment of cloud and platform resources.

* Support DevSecOps pipeline implementation by assisting with CI/CD workflows,

automated security scanning, configuration management, container deployment,

and secure software delivery practices.

* Assist with cybersecurity and compliance activities by supporting RMF

documentation, Zero Trust alignment, secure configuration, vulnerability

remediation, patching, and audit-ready technical artifacts.

* Coordinate with architects, engineers, developers, cybersecurity teams,

operators, and program stakeholders to track tasks, document technical

decisions, troubleshoot issues, and communicate status, risks, and

dependencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years

or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.

* Must be a U.S. Citizen

* Must have an Active Secret clearance to start

* Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI after start

* Experience supporting cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, systems

administration, DevOps, infrastructure automation, or related technical

roles.

* Experience supporting enterprise, cloud, hybrid cloud, containerized, or

application hosting environments.

* Experience with cloud deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, monitoring,

sustainment, or modernization activities.

* Experience using scripting, automation, configuration management, or

Infrastructure as Code concepts to support technical operations.

* Familiarity with cloud networking, identity, compute, storage, security,

monitoring, and infrastructure operations.

* Understanding of cybersecurity, access control, secure configuration, system

hardening, vulnerability management, and compliance support activities.

* Ability to work with cross-functional teams of engineers, cybersecurity

personnel, operators, program managers, and government stakeholders.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain

technical issues, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to engineering,

cybersecurity, program, and operational stakeholders.

DESIRED SKILLS:

* Security + certification preferred

* Experience supporting AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or other government

cloud environments.

* Experience with AWS services such as EC2, Security Groups, S3, EBS, EFS,

Route 53, IAM policies and roles, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Lambda, ELB,

Availability Zones, VPCs, subnets, route tables, endpoints, NACLs, Transit

Gateways, VPC peering, AWS Directory Services, AWS Workspaces, and AWS CLI.

* Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools and formats such as Terraform,

CloudFormation, YAML, JSON, Git-based workflows, and related automation

practices.

* Experience using scripting and programming languages such as Bash, Python,

PowerShell, and JavaScript to automate cloud deployment, configuration,

troubleshooting, monitoring, and operational tasks.

* Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as

Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift Container Platform, Amazon EKS, and service

mesh environments.

* Experience with microservices architectures, data streaming, event-driven

architectures, real-time analytics, or distributed data platforms.

* Experience supporting DoW cloud standards, Impact Levels 4, 5, and 6+, Zero

Trust, RMF, cybersecurity compliance, STIGs, vulnerability scanning,

patching, and secure configuration management.

* Familiarity with cross-domain solutions, multi-level security architectures,

multi-classification environments, or cloud-based cross-domain

considerations.

* Experience supporting Navy, DoW, IC, tactical, shipboard, or operational

cloud environments.

* Experience with web application infrastructure, reverse proxies, APIs,

databases, authentication services, Apache, NGINX, PostgreSQL, SQL, Node.js,

React, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.
