We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to join our team supporting emerging technology initiatives and mission-focused digital solutions within government and defense environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product management, program management, technology delivery, or innovation, with experience translating customer needs and emerging technologies into practical, scalable solutions.
The successful candidate will work across customers, technical teams, and business stakeholders to take concepts from early-stage ideas through planning, pilot execution, validation, and transition. This role requires the ability to understand complex technical concepts, define product and solution requirements, establish success criteria, coordinate cross-functional teams, and communicate effectively with both technical and executive audiences.
Unlike a traditional software Product Manager focused primarily on an established product roadmap, this role will focus heavily on emerging capabilities, pilots, prototypes, and new solution development. The Product Manager will help determine what should be built, why it matters, how it should be tested, and how successful capabilities can be matured and adopted by government customers.
This role is primarily remote unless project requirements require occasional on-site collaboration.
Responsibilities
- • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of pilot, prototype, and proof-of-concept initiatives from concept through validation.
- • Work directly with customers and stakeholders to understand mission needs, define problems, and translate them into clear product and solution requirements.
- • Develop product roadmaps, implementation plans, success criteria, transition plans, and adoption strategies for emerging capabilities.
- • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineers, solution architects, data scientists, developers, and other technical specialists.
- • Partner with technical teams to translate customer and mission requirements into practical, technically feasible solutions.
- • Facilitate product discovery, requirements gathering, prioritization, and solution definition activities.
- • Evaluate pilot outcomes, customer feedback, technical feasibility, and operational considerations to inform future product and capability decisions.
- • Manage stakeholder communication throughout product and pilot initiatives, ensuring alignment across technical teams, customers, and leadership.
- • Develop and deliver executive briefings, customer presentations, demonstrations, capability briefs, and other product communications.
- • Support product documentation, governance, change management, and reporting activities.
- • Identify opportunities to improve, mature, and scale successful capabilities based on pilot results and customer needs.
- • Collaborate with technology partners and internal technical teams to evaluate emerging technologies and determine their applicability to mission requirements.
- • Monitor product and project progress, identify risks and dependencies, and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
- • Apply structured product management and agile practices to help move concepts from early-stage ideas into validated, mission-ready solutions.
- • Support continuous improvement by incorporating customer feedback, lessons learned, and emerging technology trends into product and solution planning.
Minimum Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Management, or related field.
- • 6+ years of professional experience in product management, program management, technology delivery, consulting, innovation, or related fields.
- • Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
- • Demonstrated experience leading complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- • Experience supporting DoD, Civilian, or National Security customers.
- • Experience translating customer or mission needs into product requirements, solution concepts, implementation plans, or technical deliverables.
- • Experience leading or supporting pilots, prototypes, proof-of-concepts, or technology implementation initiatives.
- • Strong understanding of emerging technologies such as AI/ML, data platforms, automation, analytics, cloud, or digital transformation.
- • Experience developing product roadmaps, implementation plans, success criteria, business cases, or strategic recommendations.
- • Experience communicating complex technical concepts to executive, customer, and non-technical audiences.
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment while coordinating multiple priorities and stakeholders.
