Who We Are Baton Corporation is the development company that builds and operates the entire technology stack behind pump.fun, the largest memecoin launchpad in production today. ~$1B daily volume. Low latency, high throughput, constant load.
What You’ll Do
- Own the hardest backend problems across the system, from performance bottlenecks and scaling limits to correctness and reliability under load Set technical direction for core backend systems, making principled architectural decisions that balance speed, quality, and long-term maintainability Design, build, and operate distributed services that run in production and are relied on daily Identify systemic issues early and drive them to resolution, even when the problems are ambiguous or cross-cutting Raise the bar for backend engineering by mentoring peers, reviewing designs and code, and modelling strong engineering judgment Who You Are Have built and operated distributed systems at scale multiple times Strong experience in Rust, Go, or TypeScript Deep knowledge of databases and data modelling, including tradeoffs around consistency, performance, and reliability Known for solving problems others couldn’t High-agency and ownership-driven, able to take ambiguous problems and drive them to concrete outcomes without waiting for direction Crypto experience is a plus, but not required What it's like to work here We work in person Hours can be long and unconventional The pace is intense Expectations are high, and impact is immediate Working at Baton is not for everyone Why Join Us?
