Role Overview:
We’re seeking a Backend Engineer, Integrations to join our talented team as an
early engineer. In this role, you’ll work closely with our founders and
cross-functional teams to drive technical excellence, build reliable brokerage
and financial-service integrations, and contribute directly to shaping the
future of investing. This is a hands-on, highly impactful role in a fast-paced,
engineering- and product-focused company.
Responsibilities
- * Design, build, and maintain robust backend systems that power our trading
- platform and integrate with major U.S. brokerages.
- * Own API clients, authentication flows, webhooks, and data synchronization
- across external providers.
- * Implement resilient distributed workflows that handle rate limits, retries,
- duplicate events, and partial failures as we grow.
- * Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and cross-functional
- teams to deliver seamless integrations and accurate financial data.
- * Drive impact in a hands-on capacity, improving integration monitoring,
- reconciliation, and reliability from launch through ongoing support.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of professional experience as a backend engineer, ideally in a
- fast-paced startup environment.
- * Proficiency in TypeScript for backend development (open to other languages).
- * Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud infrastructure.
- * Expertise in API integration, asynchronous workflows, distributed systems,
- and cloud-hosted applications.
- * Proven track record of building and scaling backend systems to support rapid
- growth.
- Nice-to-Haves:
- * Previous experience as a software engineer for trading, investing, or fintech
- platforms.
- * Previous experience working in hyper-growth start up.
- * Experience with integrations involving platforms like Robinhood, Stripe,
- Plaid, or similar platforms/apps.
- * Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or other cloud infrastructure.
- * Passion for building user-centered solutions and delivering impact.
- * A self-starter mentality with strong ownership and problem-solving skills.
- * Experience with some of these backend tech stacks: node.js, typescript,
- graphql, nest.js, gcp, google pubsub, postgres sql, etc.
