big. Here, you can work alongside talented tech teams and build a unique career
with the Powerful Backing of American Express. With a range of opportunities to
work with the latest technologies, and a commitment to back the broader
engineering community through open source, our mission is to power your success.
Because Amex Tech is powered by our technology, our culture, and our colleagues.
The Technology organization enables and accelerates the company’s growth
strategies, delivering global capabilities and services in support of Amex’s
customers and colleagues, while maintaining 24/7 servicing and availability to
ensure an uninterrupted, high-quality customer experience. Technology provides
the foundation for everything we do in the company while driving differentiation
through building and leveraging innovative technology and data insights.
The Enterprise Data and AI organization unites the data governance, strategy,
engineering, and product teams with those responsible for AI engineering,
generative AI enablement, and automation product and engineering. This group
plays a pivotal role in leveraging data as a core driver of innovation and
integrating AI capabilities to transform products, operations, and customer
experiences.
The EDAI organization also incorporates technology Research & Development and
experimentation with emerging capabilities, along with engineering support for
Amex Digital Labs. This integration ensures that research breakthroughs
seamlessly translate into business impact.
The GenAI Enablement Team partners with stakeholders to support GenAI use cases
from inception to implementation — guiding teams through council reviews, model
integration, testing, and evaluation — to ensure alignment with enterprise GenAI
strategy, governance, and the safe, compliant adoption of AI capabilities across
the organization.
As a Senior Digital Product Manager on the AI Productivity Tools team, you will
own how American Express evaluates, enables, and scales AI tools that help
colleagues research, analyze, draft, prototype, design, and automate work. You
will drive decisions on which vendor capabilities deserve enterprise adoption,
how they should fit into Amex’s operating model, what controls are required, and
how to package them into a clear, useful colleague experience. You will work
with vendor teams and internal partners to bring AI productivity tools into Amex
in a way that is useful, supportable, governed, and worth the investment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Define the product strategy, launch scope, target users, success metrics, and
expansion roadmap for AI-powered productivity tools.
* Translate colleague needs and business priorities into clear product
requirements, roadmap priorities, rollout plans, and adoption
recommendations.
* Evaluate vendor capabilities, platform features, connectors, integrations,
and workflow patterns to decide what Amex should enable, constrain, test
further, or defer.
* Assess vendor roadmap items and enterprise feature requests against colleague
value, feasibility, risk, supportability, and readiness to scale.
* Create go/no-go recommendations that clearly separate what is ready for
controlled release, broader rollout, or future review.
* Partner with platform administration, technical project management,
engineering, security, and architecture teams to validate access,
configuration, monitoring, risk controls, support paths, and launch
readiness.
* Work with Go-to-Market partners on positioning, training inputs, launch
communications, FAQs, customer success, and feedback loops.
* Define product guardrails for acceptable use, data handling, human review,
artifact management, connector access, and scale decisions.
* Partner with vendors and internal teams to close the gap between vendor
capability and Amex readiness across identity, access, monitoring, data
handling, support, and governance.
* Analyze usage, adoption, retention, feedback, support patterns, and
qualitative value signals to understand where the product is working and
where the strategy needs to change.
* Prepare clear senior-leader materials on product value, launch readiness,
adoption, investment needs, governance, and tradeoffs.
* Build repeatable product practices for evaluating vendor capabilities,
packaging them for Amex, launching them to the right cohorts, and measuring
adoption and value.
QUALIFICATIONS
* 5+ years of product management, platform product management, enterprise SaaS,
AI products, collaboration tools, productivity platforms, developer tools,
design tools, or equivalent experience.
* Experience launching, enabling, or scaling products in complex enterprise
environments with technology, risk, compliance, legal, and business
stakeholders.
* Strong product judgment, including the ability to define the customer
problem, prioritize the highest-value use cases, and make clear launch
tradeoffs under pressure.
* Ability to turn ambiguous vendor capabilities into practical requirements,
rollout plans, success metrics, user guidance, and executive recommendations.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain
product, technical, operational, and risk topics to senior and non-technical
audiences.
* Experience partnering with engineering, architecture, information security,
legal, compliance, data governance, vendor, Go-to-Market, or platform
operations teams.
* Comfort operating with incomplete information while maintaining strong
documentation, decision-making, and escalation discipline.
* Ability to use data, user feedback, and product intuition to evaluate
adoption, value, product-market fit, and readiness to scale.
* Hands-on curiosity about AI tools and willingness to test products directly
before asking others to adopt them.
* Entrepreneurial, self-directed, and able to move quickly without losing sight
of governance, supportability, and enterprise risk.
* Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
