PRINCIPAL SECURITY LEAD ENGINEER

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a Principal Engineer with an obsession for security. As part of the role, the Principal Engineer will work closely with other security and firmware engineers, developers and architects across various IPs in leading the designs and implementing security that spans pre-silicon and post-silicon for all AMD SoCs.

The position will drive security features that protect register access, firmware interfaces, configuration controls, sensitive customer data and server platform security.

  • THE PERSON:
  • You are passionate about security with creative and effective problem-solving skills, a motivated, self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in fast paced environments. You have excellent technical communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead Engineer responsible for drive security solutions and customer adoption for the server CPU program, validating features and advocating for enhancements.
  • Drive PSIRT bug fixes to mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Provide consultation to internal and external customers regarding AMD security features and programming requirements, owned customer training and in-house training
  • Experienced in the use of AI tools to identify and resolve security issues.
  • Work with AMD SoC and other IP teams to track trends and development directions to align with customer needs
  • Provide technical and cross-functional debug support to customers with security issues.
  • Deliver architecture specifications and/or review proposals from internal/external sources
  • Collaborate with internal AMD teams (Product and System Architects, RTL, PD, SW, Bring-up) to deliver best-in-class security solutions.
  • PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Relevant work experience focused on computer architecture and security, with a strong understanding of the factors influencing register and firmware access protections at chip, system, and product levels.
  • Proven track record of providing and following through with pragmatic security requirements
  • Expert at tackling multi-variable problems via system-level modeling, testing and characterization, trend analysis/projection, and model verification.
  • Computing and Graphics architecture.
  • A drive to continuously learn and expand architectural breadth and depth.
  • Understands CPU security/power/performance, SW and FW access, and system-level trade-offs
  • ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
