Join Amazon Robotics and help transform how the world moves goods through
innovative robotic solutions. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll partner with
a talented, multidisciplinary team to design and develop the sensor and compute
components that power our robotic systems, directly impacting the experiences of
millions of customers worldwide.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, talented and motivated Senior Embedded Software
Engineer to spearhead the research and development of next generation sensor and
compute technology in robotics. We are a cross-disciplinary team aiming to
enable broad use cases of sensor technology in Amazon Fulfillment network.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in embedded systems and
sensors. The candidate should have strong technical expertise to deliver
independently, as well as great stewardship skills to drive multiple projects
with internal teams and external partners. We will guide you to make this

As a senior member of the team, you can have a huge impact on everything from
our technology roadmap, to the functionality we deliver for our customers, to
the design and architecture of our systems, to the algorithms we employ, and to
the culture we build.
Key job responsibilities
- Research emerging sensor technologies and evaluate potential applications in
Amazon fulfillment network.
- Partner with hardware, software, test and operations teams as well as third
party suppliers to develop next generation 2D & 3D sensors and computers.
- Architect system design, define requirements, write system specification and
create test plans.
- Design and develop full stack embedded software including device drivers and
applications to enable Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Edge Computing.
- Advise internal teams on sensor stack design and integration.
- Aide product release to manufacturing and customer deployment.

Basic
Qualifications
- - 5+ years of non-internship professional software
- development experience
- - 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language
- experience
- - 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and
- scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- - Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- - 2+ years of contributing to new and current systems architecture and design
- (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) experience
- - BA/BS/MS/PhD in computer science, computer engineering or related discipline.
- - High level of proficiency with C/C++ programming languages.
- - 2+ years of experience as a mentor, tech advisor directing an engineering team
- - 6+ years of embedded software development experience which must include
- direct, hands-on experience of full embedded software development cycle,
- including design, prototype, development, code review, test, build, release,
- manufacturing and deployment.
Preferred Qualifications
- - 5+ years of full
- software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews,
- source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- - Experience driving collaborative projects from conception to delivery, or
- experience troubleshooting and documenting findings
- - Experience with sensors, including but not limited to camera, stereo camera,
- time-of-flight sensors, Radar, and Lidar.
- - Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- - Excellent stewardship, teamwork and partnership skills with a high level of
- attention to detail.
- - Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as required by the
- program

- The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package
- will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final
- compensation will be determined based on factors including experience,
- qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits

- AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health
