As we continue to grow, Altagrove is actively recruiting for a Cloud Engineer to join our energetic and entrepreneurial team supporting secure cloud modernization and mission-focused infrastructure.

A successful candidate will bring strong hands-on AWS engineering experience, with multi-cloud experience welcomed, and a passion for building secure, resilient, and scalable cloud environments.

What you will do

Design, deploy, configure, and sustain secure AWS cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise and mission-critical workloads.
Build and manage AWS environments using services such as EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, Route 53, Elastic Load Balancing, and related services.
Design and support cloud networking including VPCs, subnets, routing, security groups, VPNs, Direct Connect, DNS, load balancing, and hybrid connectivity.
Support cloud migrations, application modernization, workload deployment, and integration between cloud and on-premises environments.
Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar automation technologies.
Deploy and support containerized workloads using Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon ECS, and/or Amazon EKS.
Configure IAM, encryption, logging, monitoring, vulnerability management, backup, and other cloud security and resilience controls.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes within DevSecOps environments.
Monitor cloud availability, performance, capacity, security, and cost while troubleshooting infrastructure, networking, and application connectivity issues.
Collaborate with network, cyber, software, systems, and customer teams to support cloud deployments, integrations, testing, documentation, and mission execution.
What you will bring:
Hands-on experience designing, deploying, operating, and troubleshooting production AWS cloud environments.
Strong knowledge of core AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, Route 53, Lambda, load balancing, and related infrastructure services.
Experience with AWS networking including VPC architecture, routing, security groups, VPN connectivity, DNS, and hybrid cloud integration.
Experience using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar Infrastructure as Code and automation technologies.
Experience administering Linux and/or Windows Server workloads in cloud environments.
Working knowledge of containers and orchestration technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, and EKS.
Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and scripting with Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages for cloud administration and automated infrastructure deployment.
Knowledge of cloud security concepts including IAM, RBAC, encryption, key management, logging, vulnerability management, least privilege, and Zero Trust principles.
Experience supporting cloud migrations, infrastructure modernization, hybrid cloud, or multi-cloud environments; Azure or Google Cloud experience is a plus.
Experience with AWS GovCloud or cloud environments supporting DoD, government, or regulated customers preferred, including familiarity with RMF, NIST, STIGs, or security hardening.
Strong troubleshooting skills across cloud infrastructure, networking, operating systems, identity, and application connectivity.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Cloud Computing, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered. AWS certification preferred; Azure or other cloud certifications are a plus.
Active security clearance is required. Must be able to work onsite in Herndon, VA and travel as required.
