With more than five years of experience in UX design, I have had numerous chances to perform user testing in various formats. My preferred approach often varies based on the specific requirements of the project and can include methods such as card sorting, A/B testing, first-click tests, usability studies, and field studies, among others. For gathering data, I utilize a combination of tools and techniques. I rely on analytics tools like Google Analytics for quantitative data and employ software like UserZoom or Qualtrics for qualitative insights. Quantitative data is essential for recognizing patterns and forming general conclusions, whereas qualitative data provides a deeper understanding of users' behaviors, preferences, and motivations. Therefore, I frequently incorporate open-ended survey questions, user interviews, and observational studies into my research to collect qualitative insights. Additionally, I analyze customer support interactions and feedback from social media to identify the challenges our users may encounter. All the gathered data, both qualitative and quantitative, is carefully analyzed to guide design choices that enhance the overall user experience.
