Please provide three products you enjoy and three products you do not like.

Approach / Explanation

This question may appear simple, but it actually presents a chance for you to demonstrate your critical thinking abilities and your skill in assessing products. The interviewer is interested not only in your preferences but also in the rationale behind them. This will provide them with insight into your perspective on product design and quality assessment. Here’s how you might respond: Select three products you particularly enjoy and three that you don't, and be prepared to explain your reasoning. Consider factors such as design, functionality, user-friendliness, and cost-effectiveness, among others. Describe how the products you appreciate effectively meet their intended purpose. Analyze the shortcomings of the products you dislike and suggest how they could be improved. Be honest and express your thoughts clearly. There are no incorrect answers.

Suggested Answer

Three products that I enjoy are my iPhone, Google Home, and Garmin GPS Watch. I appreciate the iPhone for its stylish design, user-friendliness, and robust features. The Google Home offers a wide range of capabilities, is very easy to use, and integrates seamlessly with my other devices. Finally, the Garmin GPS Watch is dependable, precise, and boasts excellent battery life. On the other hand, three products I dislike are my old Dell laptop, Snap Spectacles, and an inexpensive blender I purchased online. The laptop was cumbersome, had a short battery life, and frequently overheated. The Spectacles had limited applications and a steep price that didn’t warrant the investment. Additionally, the blender failed within a few months of use, indicating poor quality.

Alternative Answer

Products that I respect include Evernote, the Tesla Model S, and Spotify. For example, Evernote is incredibly helpful for taking notes and offers seamless synchronization across various devices. The Tesla Model S is an impressive vehicle that features remarkable specifications, environmental benefits, and outstanding performance. Spotify's customized playlists truly differentiate it from other services and enhance the user experience. On the other hand, the products I find poorly designed are my old Nokia phone, a generic toaster, and Windows Vista. The Nokia phone had a complicated interface and unreliable connectivity. While the toaster fulfills its basic function, it suffers from uneven heating and is hard to clean. Windows Vista was quite disappointing due to its frequent crashes and numerous compatibility problems.
